The Pacers were able to beat a Team that they are supposed to beat. Surprisingly, we were able to maintain the lead throughout the game. Murphy is continuing his solid Game play....Diener was 5-6 from the 3pt line.

    Also...who was defending KMart?

Although he went to the FT line 14 times ( while hitting all 14 of them ), he was 3-12 from the field.....not bad defense on him.

    Thoughts?

Well, I say kudos to this team. We gained a spot on Milwaukee, and like Cable said, we beat a team we were supposed to beat.

    Let's keep it up.

I could see Danny coming back tomorrow after this win to make one last push for the playoffs and keeping the streak alive.

Exactly. I was worried a little bit because he went off against us last time. I believe it was Marquis, though. Give him a lot of credit for sticking with him and not letting him get into a rhythm.

Without a clear second option for the Kings, keeping Martin in check was very important to this win.

    Awesome game tonight.

    Got a road win.
Beat a team we were suppose to beat
Held on to a lead throughout the game

The team is playing really well, and best of all.. together! The box score says it all when you look at how much the scoring was spread around.

The Nets did themselves and us a favor by rallying in the 4th and beating the Bucks

Only 2 games back with the Bucks in Cleveland tomorrow and I believe the Nets in Boston.

If we can sneak out of Portland with a win, we may find ourselves 1 game back of the 8th spot!!

And we still play the Bucks the last game of the season!

I asked in the random thoughts thread, but what if on the last day of the season we are down 1 game and we beat the bucks to end up with the same reg. season record? Does it go by Conference record or division record ?

-I like how JOB played Diener the entire 4th quarter. I wish he could catch fire more than once every couple of weeks because when he's knocking down shots, he's clearly our best PG.

We got up by 21 in the 3rd and Ford started playing like a moron and killed all of our momentum.

-Rookie watch: Hibbert struggled the 1st half, but seemd to slow himself down in the 3rd and had a few nice takes. Rush was terrible all night long.

-I love watching Marquis Daniels play. (Although I'm still not sure what happened on that fastbreak against Bobby Jackson.)

If you look at the collective teams in the hunt for the 8th spot and their schedules over the next 3-5 games, the Pacers may very well be in that 8th spot very soon and control their playoff destiny.

We'll only get better from here on out! With Granger back, Jack and Murph on FIRE, and with Diener running everything, we should beast from here on out. Here's the rest of our schedule:

vs. Portland - Either way no idea
    vs. LAC - Win
    vs. Utah - Home Win
vs. Atlanta - Loss probably but possibly not
    vs. Toronto - Win
    vs. Portland - Home Win
vs. Dallas - Pretty easy home win
    vs. Charlotte - Win
vs. Miami - Home Win with about 55% chance of winning
    vs. Chicago - Win
    vs. Washington - Win
    vs. Chicago - Home Win
vs. San Antonio - Home Loss
    vs. OKC - Win
    vs. Toronto - Home Win
vs. Atlanta - Probably a Loss
    vs. Detroit - Home Win
    vs. Cleveland - Home Loss
    vs. Milwaukee - Home Win

14 - 5 or 13-6 sounds about right because our schedule really is that easy.
"I keep wondering the same thing. Last week they had the 4th worst record in the league, had an 11.9 percent chance of winning the lottery and were in line to land a franchise type player like Derrick Favors or DeMarcus Cousins. This week? They have a 1.7 percent chance of winning the lottery, have the 8th worst record and are in line to draft Cole Aldrich or Greg Monroe. Way to go Jim O'Brien. Rest Danny Granger the rest of the season (if it isn't too late) and give Josh McRoberts lots of minutes. That ought to do it." - Chad Ford on winning meaningless games

Way to go Jim, you may have just put our franchise back another 4+ years.

Good team win...I knew we still had a shot at the playoffs if we just continued to worry about ourselves and play well. 19 games and only 2 games back, we've got to take advantage of this. After all the crap we've been through this year, it'd be remarkable for this team to make the playoffs. No matter what happens, I'll always be proud to be a Pacers fan.

No offense, but that is way too optimistic. I would say .500 during that stretch would be good. Will that get us into the playoffs? Who knows. I wouldn't expect to go 14-5 or 13-6 though.

Did anyone else notice Danny on the bench? He was constantly standing up, jumping up and down, and waving his towel. He was really into it and having a good time cheering for the team.

That, along with how Roy acts on the bench, makes me love this team so much more.

Mostly Daniels and Rush. Jack and Graham pitched in. Rush was killing Garcia and Kmart with his defense. Rush did, however, get beat on screens a lot, leading to help-side fouls and free throws.

Just for the record(off topic), Murphy had very little to do with Spencer Hawes' scoring night. Blame that on Roy and Jeff, to slow. In fact, Spencer's success ended when Murphy was on guard. Also, let it be noted that Murphy guarded Nocioni better than Foster. Like to see more of that from Troy.

    Re-sign Jack.

not trying to pick on you but, one thing i noticed is you have the pacers going on an 8-game win streak with toronto to san antonio. this team hasn't won more than 3 games in a row in about 4-5 years. i give this team a negative 55% chance of pulling that off.
it doesn't matter who the opponents would be.
i am a very strong believer in that only truly good teams can go on significant runs (like 4 or more) this is not a truly good team (especially considering all the injured guys). they will most likely go about .500 the rest of the way. where that gets them- i don't know.
hate to be a bobby buzzkill but, i'm just giving my honest oppinion.

If we win 9 of those games I will be extremely, pleasantly surprised. Come down to Earth and take another look.

With this team there isn't a game on the schedule you can count as a win or a loss.

Don't just look at the next 3-5 games of the Pacer, but look at who the Bucks, Bulls, Nets, and Cats and tell me we can't close the 2 game gap on the 8th spot in the next 10 days.

Anybody think the Sixers will fade?

I know this is a topic in another thread, but after seeing the team play and point distribution last night, it's timely here I think.

If there's to be any playoff run, Danny will have to find a way to integrate back into the flow that has been established in his absence. I'm hopeful, as has been suggested elsewhere, that this would mean he'd have to shoulder less on the offensive end, but ideally could focus more on impacting the game on the defensive end.

Whatever happens, the other guys have to be as engaged as they are now for us to continue to have any success. Cannot get passive waiting for DG to do something.

Don't sleep on the Bobcats, they are playing extremely well and there schedule is pretty easy also. Anyone who has followed larry Brown, should not be surprised one bit that he has the Cats playing very well

We don't agree often, but on this we do.

Brown's MO is to have the FO to get players that fit his system, and he has.
Chicago is another team to keep an eye on.

The difficulty the Pacers are going to have to reach the playoffs won't be the 2 or 3 games back that they are right now, it is the 4 or 5 teams all competing. That means whoever gets the 8th spot will have to earn

At the :16 second mark.......I liked the play where TJ dribble to the hoop then passes the ball ( at the last second ) to Murphy AT THE TOP OF THE KEY where he drains the 3pt shot.

How TJ was able to pass the ball ( much less see ) Murphy at the top of the key is beyond me.
