    Default Pacers/Houston Trade

    Pacers receive:

    McGrady
    Landry

    Houston receives:

    Dunleavy
    Rasho
    Daniels

This works and I think both teams do it.

Pacers get a star player (when fit) and big name who would help ticket sales and general interest. Landry would also be a good PF in combo with Murphy. Pacers would also save salary over the long term as McGrady comes off the books after next season (as opposed to Dunleavy who has 1 more year). Also means Rush is our no.2 SG so should get lots of opportunities (as opposed to being no.3 this season).

    Ford/Jack/Deiner
    T-Mac/Rush
    Granger/Graham
    Murphy/Landry/McRoberts
    Hibbert/Foster

Houston clear a lot ($14m) of salary to reload with Yao and Artest, plus Dunleavy would give them just about as much as T-Mac has (due to injury).

    Thoughts?

That would put the team in luxury hell so it's unlikely to happen.

If Houston were even to think about this, they wouldnt include Landry. No need.

And you are talking about seriously altering the Pacers cap situation next year.

Houston lol's on this one I'm afraid. I don't see how this would benefit them. I don't think they're willing to give up Landry for cap space.

houston is one team i keep going back to as a possible destination for tinsley. i'm not entirely sure why. maybe it has something to do with the talent they have and how uninspiring they play at times and the fact that adelman has certainly worked with difficult PGs before (white chocolate, rafer). tinsley is an improvement over rafer but costs more too. unfortunately i can't find a trade that really makes sense.

as for this deal... not happening. though i think it'd be interested to pair battier and dunleavy up under adelman's system.

I don't even know if I would lke this. I don't know itll take me some time to think about. McGrady is almost done, and Dunleavy is very good, but itll take time for him to get back to his old self.
"I keep wondering the same thing. Last week they had the 4th worst record in the league, had an 11.9 percent chance of winning the lottery and were in line to land a franchise type player like Derrick Favors or DeMarcus Cousins. This week? They have a 1.7 percent chance of winning the lottery, have the 8th worst record and are in line to draft Cole Aldrich or Greg Monroe. Way to go Jim O'Brien. Rest Danny Granger the rest of the season (if it isn't too late) and give Josh McRoberts lots of minutes. That ought to do it." - Chad Ford on winning meaningless games

Way to go Jim, you may have just put our franchise back another 4+ years.

No way Houston would do this, but I think getting Landry more than makes up for losing Dunleavy.
