Not sure if I llike that idea. Does anyone know if he is protected from other teams calling him up? I don't know the whole story behind the D League

Exactly what I am wondering as well. Aren't the Ants affiliated with the Pistons?

Yeah, they are. It's just last season everyone wanted us to call up Earl Calloway. Wasn't he under some kind of contract with another affiliate?

Either way, sending Rush up north isn't going to help his development, and doesn't give us any roster flexibility.

I found some info in the Indystar about this. I just think is just a comment by Mike

Keep an eye on what happens with Brandon Rush.
The Pacers have never sent a player to their D-League affiliate in Fort Wayne, but it doesn't mean it won't ever happen.
Swingman is the Pacers' deepest position and it's going to be difficult for Rush to prove he's got confidence again by sitting on the bench. The Pacers are in a stretch where they don't have much practice time.
Rush scored two points in eight minutes Tuesday.
It may not hurt for him to go to Fort Wayne to get some playing time.

The D-League is not a minor league in the sense of the MLB. He is under contract to the Pacers and cannot be "called up" by any other team. Earl Calloway had no contract with a NBA team thus "calling him up" would mean signing him to at least a 10 day contract. I say he will get more PT with the Pacers in the coming weeks.

i couldn't read it since i don't have an insider.

i don't know this is true or not but if it is it a shame. from being said to be one of the most nba ready guys in the draft to playing in d-league. wow! that's what i call free-fall.

He might get more PT if the Pacers make a deal by Feb 19...trading Marquis or Dun (although neither is very likely).

I wonder if getting demoted will hurt his confidence more.

Although I was suspecting the Pacers might pull the trigger on a deal, I really am thinking that the more likely scenario, given the economic situation as well as Danny's new deal, that they will let both Marquis and Rasho walk...that or try to sign them to smaller deals.

Just trade Dunleavy or Marquis next month and give the kid time.

I detect a negative attitude toward Rush on the part of OB and so getting him away from the coach for awhile would be a good thing for him.

It's the same as the Wells post. They grab a lot of their rumors from local papers.

If Rush isn't going to play, he may as well be in Ft. Wayne. Stephen Graham is fast becoming my least favorite Pacer because I think it's silly that he's playing instead of Rush.

I don't mind one reckless player on the court. But when we have Graham and Jack out there the TOs do come fast.

    My least favorite lineup is:
    Ford
    Jack
    Daniels
    Granger
    Foster

Only one shooter and one decent screener for that shooter.

When the Pacers send a player down/up/North I will definitely drive up to see a game. Problem is, I don't see it ever happening.

I only see this happening if there are no moves made at the deadline and the team goes on a run to put themselves in the thick of the playoff hunt.

At this point, the only real reason that we could have for sending Rush down would be to somehow demonstrate that he can play basketball professionally and boost his trade value before the deadline. It would, IMHO, be a hideous mistake coming directly out of whatever ongoing issue that O'Brien has with him.

Maybe we could send O'Brien to Ft. Wayne, and let whoever coaches them have a shot at the bigs for a while?

I have absolutely no problem with sending anyone to Fort Wayne if it means they are going to get playing time. I feel it is better then just rotting on our bench. It's about time we considered using our D-League franchise.

The Ants can be like the coach that Brandon never had.

It's ridiculous to have a D League affiliate 100 miles up the road and never use it. Let him get away from O'Brien and get some playing time. Why pay to have a D League franchise and never use it?

that they will let both Marquis and Rasho walk...that or try to sign them to smaller deals.

Daniels is in a TEAM OPTION year and can't be signed to a smaller deal. If the Pacers decide to pick up the "team option", his salary next year is 7.3 mil.

I'd rather he get 35 mpg with the Ants than 3.5 mpg with the Pacers. I'd actually watch Ants' games if Rush is sent there, assuming there's some place to actually watch them online.

Sure he can be signed to a smaller deal, we simply don't pick up the option and boom, he's in the market for a new deal.

Yeah, being a 30 minute flight away from Indy is a pretty good incentive on using the D-League. I know in the past, Walsh didn't like the fact that he didn't like another coaching staff working with "their" players. I always thought that was the flimsiest excuse not to get our freshman and sophomore players playing time.
