Road teams win all 1st rd games (I imagine one home team will actually win but I'll take 3 of 4).

    AFC

    Rd 2.

    Balt at Tenn - Tenn
Indy at Pitt - Pitt (I still think Indy matches up better with them than anyone but I wouldn't pick 'em)

AFC Champ - Pitt over Tenn

    NFC

    Rd 2

    NYG over Atl
    Carolina over Philly

NFC Champ - NYG over Carolina

    SB - Pitt beats NYG

My understanding is that the highest seed plays the lowest seed in each round. Therefore, #6 Baltimore would play at #1 Tennessee.

You've got 'em playing at Pittsburgh.

But I think I was wrong and edited my post - sportsline has a hard bracket:

Blah - should've read the fine print and stuck with what I had. On that site: http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/standi...ffrace/bracket

During the regular season, the NFL Playoff Race Bracket and Seeds reflect how the playoffs would stand if the season ended up to that point. The NFL playoffs are not based on a pure bracket system. In the divisional playoffs, the No. 1 seed is assured of playing the lowest-seeded Wild Card survivor. There are no restrictions on intra-division games and the higher seed of any matchup will have home-field advantage.
I need to edit my picks - too bad for Indy, gets 'em out a rd earlier by my picks.

    AFC:

    (6) Baltimore at (3) Miami - Baltimore
    (5) Indianapolis at (4) San Diego - Indianapolis

    (6) Baltimore at (1) Tennessee - Tennessee
    (5) Indianapolis at (2) Pittsburgh - Indianapolis

    (5) Indianapolis at (1) Tennessee - Indianapolis

    NFC:

    (6) Philadelphia at (3) Minnesota - Minnesota
    (5) Atlanta at (4) Arizona - Atlanta

    (5) Atlanta at (1) NY Giants - NY Giants
    (3) Minnesota at (2) Carolina - Carolina

    (2) Carolina at (1) NY Giants - Carolina

    SUPER BOWL XLIII:

    (A5) Indianapolis vs. (N2) Carolina - Indianapolis

If not the Colts, I definitely think Carolina is the second best team at this point.

Even if I wasn't a Colts fan, I would have gone this route. I think Manning is playing better than he ever has in his career. The Colts record against playoff teams is excellent, and that emboldens my pick all the more. That said, I think any of the 12 remaining teams could make a run in these playoffs, so it's not going to be easy by any stretch.

I'll take us over Baltimore in the AFC championship. I really don't buy into the Titans. I think they are paper champs.

I'll take Carolina over the Giants.

And I'll take the the Colts over the Panthers for the Super Bowl.

    The Manning Bowl Part Deux

Peyton adds to his legacy with his second SB MVP after a stellar playoff run.

I just copied OM's post and edited it a tad, because I agreed with everything except Carolina over the Giants.

It would be extrememly nice if Baltimore could somehow take care of Tennessee for us so we could host them here for the AFC Championship if things get that far though.

    AFC
    Round 1:
Indianapolis @ San Diego - Colts
    Baltimore @ Miami - Ravens

San Diego is hot (sorta), but LT is dinged up, Norv Turner is their coach, and the Colts won the first match up this year. Indy wins this one by 7 or more.

Baltimore's defense is just damn right scary. Ed Reed, 43 interceptions since he came into the league in 2002. Plus Joe Flacco will play on par with Pennington. A lot of guys on the Ravens have more experience in their system and in the playoffs (the defense). Miami is good, and it will be a close game, but I'm taking Balitmore.

    Round 2:
    Indianapolis @ Pittsburgh - Colts
    Baltimore @ Tennessee - Tennessee

I dont think Big Ben will be 100% for this game as he hasnt been 100% since week 1 (or was he injured then too?). Pittsburgh is a really good team. But the way Indy is playing, I am not picking against them right here. It will be a close game though and I wouldn be surprised if Pitt won.

Tennessee and Baltimore is the toughest game for me to pick honestly. I really want to pick the Ravens, but something in my head is saying the Titans will win one playoffs game. They have played to well all year not too. I almost expect this pick to be wrong actually, but I am sticking with it.

    AFC Championship:
    Indianapolis @ Tennessee - Colts

The Colts are the hottest team in the AFC right now. They have been there before and know what it takes to win in January and February. I think Peyton will do his Eli impression by taking the Colts on the road and winning three straight to get themselves into the Superbowl.

    NFC
    Round 1:
    Philadelphia @ Minnesota - Eagles
    Atlanta @ Arizona - Falcons

Philly is experienced in the right places, has their best roster since 2004 (despite the record, but compare the divison since then), is hot, and has the defense to slow down Peterson. The vikings, this team has not been into the playoffs before. I dont think Jackson will with stand the pressure Jim Johnson will bring. Plus, Andy Reid knows Brad Childress better than anyone in the NFL.

Arizona completely backed into the playoffs. The only reason they made it is because they play in the NFC West and someone had to win it. They lost 4 of the last 5 I think. Atlanta was close to winning the NFC South, played well down the stretch, and Matt Ryan, well he hasn't looked like a rookie all season and I doubt he will now.

    Round 2:
Philadelphia @ New York Giants - Eagles
    Atlanta @ Carolina - Panthers

The Eagles played the Giants 4 weeks ago and won, easily. Remember, Jacobs didnt get injured until the 3rd quarter and the Giants offense didnt score (special teams blocked the fg at the end of the half and returned it for a td) until the 4th quarter in garbage time. Philly shut down the Giants, in the Meadowlands and really played well. I think the Giants peaked too early. Missing Plaxico hurts them. Eli will spend a lot of time on the ground.

Atlanta and Carolina really comes down to homefield advantage. Beating Carolina in Carolina is next to impossible. Also more of the Panthers players have experience in the playoffs. Also John Fox has proved he can win in the playoffs, which we aren't sure about Mike Smith yet.

    NFC Championship:
    Philadelphia @ Carolina - Eagles

Philly is pulling their own act of copying the New York Giants from a year ago. Carolina is a very good team, but the way Philly is playing right now, its hard to see them lose. Their is just something special about them right now, that I haven't noticed before. They got a little swagger on how they closed out the season. McNabb has a huge chip on his shoulder. Dawkins looks like a man on a mission where he will do anything to get back to the Superbowl. Also Reid is really coaching for his job right now. More so than McNabb is playing for his I think.

    Super Bowl XLIII:

    Philadelphia @ Indianapolis

Now this will be a great game. You got the two longest tenured QB and Coach combos I believe. Both have been there before. Both teams are both extremely hot. The Colts would be on a 12 game winning streak here and Philly would have won 7 out of the last 8. McNabb is playing some of the best football of his career. Peyton has won another MVP and really willing his team to wins. Its such a great match up. I think they are really the two best teams in the NFL right now. Now my pick. The winner of Super Bowl XLIII is ......... The Philadelphia Eagles

There is just something special about this group. I really like the make up of this team. Its going to be a hell of a game. No blowout here. I will come down to the end. I think defense will be a big key here, maybe more important than the offense.

Now you guys know I am an Eagles fan, so of course some bias comes into this. But I really do believe they have a great shot at winning the Super Bowl. If they lose before then, I am taking NYG in the NFC, and the Colts in the Super Bowl, but i dont see that happening. Take it for what is worth.

Miami is the only team remaining in the AFC that I can stomach. Well, I guess Baltimore doesn't bother me that much, but I just can't stand their whiny fans who won't let go of something that happened 25 years ago.

I absolutely despise Sh*tsburgh, San Diego, and Tennessee.

Bounced back today for 2-2 on the weekend. Im really thinking Baltimore is going to beat Tennessee, but I am sticking by my pick of the Titans.

All I have to say is Ed Reed is a beast.

Arizona's probably the worst team in the playoffs - but I underestimated the "rookie QB playing on the road in a dome" factor. Ryan wasn't horrible but he wasn't good either.

I actually give more credit to Arizona on that win. They ran well. Edge show he can still play. And their defense played very well except in that second quarter. If Arizona established the run against Carolina it should be a good game. If it werent for the amazing Steve Smith, the Cardinals probably would have beaten the Panthers earlier this season.

AZ sold out vs the run and dared Ryan to beat them - he couldn't. They played it right but if Ryan's a 2nd year QB I think he beats 'em.

    Awful picks on my part

Tennessee should have beaten the Ravens. I think SD or Pitt will beat them in the AFC Championship game.

Yeah, they should have. Just like we should have beaten the Chargers. Penalities did us both in.
