Colts' Sanders Makes Boy's Dream Come True
Boy Rides With Sanders In Limo To School

    POSTED: 11:43 am EST December 2, 2008

INDIANAPOLIS -- Indianapolis Colts safety Bob Sanders made a boy's dream come true as he accompanied him to class Tuesday morning.

Sanders rode along with Jaedon Ball, 7, in a stretch limousine to Brook Park Elementary School, in Lawrence Township, as part of JCPenney's Take A Player To School Sweepstakes, 6News' Julie Pursley reported.

Ball, a second-grader, said, "I screamed," when he found out he was one of 34 children all over the country to win the sweepstakes.

"I told him when I came in his house this morning … it was just like the first day of school," Sanders said. "I was up at 4 in the morning. I was anxious and excited."

The whole school got a chance to meet Sanders, who shared an important message with them.

"Stay active … and stay healthy," Sanders said. "It's a new generation coming up. We want these kids to be the most fit generation ever."

Sanders talked about the NFL's Play 60 campaign, which encourages children to exercise 60 minutes a day.

The Colts safety also took a little time to exercise with the children and share a few pointers. It was a day Ball will never forget.

Sanders is a role model to many youngsters, but he told the children his father was his role model.

Wow, that's two years in a row for Bob to be picked by the winning kid!

It's the first *. Amazing that two Indianapolis kids win back to back years, and both pick the same player.

To be completely honest, I've always pictured you in the 20-25 age group.

I think it's the sheer immaturity you display with Geezer, like you were that kid who grew up down the road who tormented the crap out of your neighbor (being Geez).

The internet and annonimity. It's a wonderful thing!

    Thanks, I think.

Geezer is the immature one. No question about that. He won't argue.

I don't mean to be cruel, but does this seem ironic to anyone else?

I don't think this is the place to bash Bob.

Sanders would make a lot of Colt fans' dreams come true if he could play an entire season. Or even the vast majority of a season. He seems like a good guy though. It's a shame he has such an injury problem.
Nuntius was right. I was wrong. Frank Vogel has retained his job.

I think if he didn't play with such unabashed enthusiasm he wouldn't get hurt so much. But then he wouldn't be Bob! Ya gotta take the bad with the good, and I'd rather have Bob for half a season at 100% than have no Bob at all or have a Bob that only played at 75%.

Oh, and he is tha man! I am 40 years old and I would scream like a schoolgirl if I got to bring Bob to work for a day...

Yup, if he held anything back, it just wouldn't be right. That's the reason we all love Bob Sanders!

I'm 20, and I've met Sanders in a gas station here in my hometown. He's a cool guy. I approached him first because he's my height, so it was easier because I could look him in the eye--something I couldn't have done with Wayne, June, or Edge (the other 3 with Bob). It was after his rookie season, and I had already become the biggest Sanders fan I know, but he thought it was weird that I'd approach him first, and said, "Man, Edgerrin James is right there!"

And despite being able to look him in the eye, I was still nervous because his shoulders alone looked like they could eat me!

Anyways, bringing him to work for a day would be awesome! I'd teach him to make pizza and we'd have the busiest day in the history of our Pizza King!
