This stuff always puts one's mortality in perspective.
You know how hippos are made out to be sweet and silly, like big cows, but are actually extremely dangerous and can kill you with stunning brutality? The Pacers are the NBA's hippos....Matt Moore CBS Sports....

Wow. More than just a talented guy, he was truly an icon of music. Along the lines of a Michael Jackson or a Madonna. What a loss. We are losing so many icons in all areas, not just music.

Prince's first stuff came out almost 40 years ago. If it came out today people would be like "what is this!? this is sexy man, I'm with it."

Coolest human being on earth, at least in my lifetime.

This goes without saying, but that guy transcended music. I don't know that I'll ever see so many people in such utter awe of a musicial performer.

I'm 32, my MOM texted me a crying emoji with a video. somewhere in the vault, maybe even THE VAULT, who knows the way he was about digital files, but there's a video Mom recorded off her VCR specifically with Little Me gettin DOWN to Little Red Corvette when I was like 4 at some family BBQ or whatever. My uncle had a red 72 StingRay at the time so I was diggin it. Wearing purple undershirts all week, least I can do.

With Phife Dawg passing earlier this year, it's been really bad for music legends under 5'5". Somebody needs to make sure Bjork's spacesuit is correctly pressurized.

Let's Go Crazy is probably my favorite, but the way he played the guitar on When Doves Cry was great. May have been the best of his generation on that alone, then throw in everything else. Half of the '80's big 4, Jackson, Prince, Madonna and Springsteen are gone. I might include Whitney in there as well to make it 5. Amazing people gone too soon.

You are forgetting Phil Collins. He was as big as it gets in the 80's....and while I agree that Prince was a great guitar player, he is hardly the best guitar player of the 80's. The 80's were loaded with guitar virtuosos.

The Beautiful Ones and Take Me With U are my tossup favs. One song of his that doesn't get much play, but when I hear it, it puts me in a calm trance is Under The Cherry Moon

It looks like he didn't have a will. I'm shocked by this.
Also, they're turning Paisley Park into a museum sometime in the future.

I find it hard to believe someone who controlled his music the way Prince did would not have a will then again maybe he just figured when he dies he just disappears.

I think Minnesota says it's divided equally among them and whatever number it is, it's a windfall to her and unearned, and so the law is the law. If she's asking them to agree to take less so that she can take more, I don't think they legally have to do that. And why would they?

I could maybe understand if she'd been by his side for years, writing songs with him, managing his affairs, etc... Especially if she wasn't compensated heavily for that. But to come in at his death and say "I want more than you guys"... even though the law says they are all entitled to an equal share... Just isn't going to fly and there's no reason (moral or legal) for them to agree.

That said... If she wants them to agree to a business arrangement like making Paisley Park a museum or something, or donating X$ to a charity that Prince liked, (versus just liquidating the estate and splitting the pie) and only then dividing the remainder equally, then that would be different. At least I'd see her side more. Still, the law will not favor that IF the others don't agree.

So it's maybe possible she's not just trying to keep a bigger pie for herself.

Nuntius was right for a while. I was wrong for a while. But ultimately I was right and Frank Vogel has been let go.
