    - Great effort all around. That was a lot of fun to watch.
    - at the entire team being the Chase Player of the Game.
    - I got the score wrong, but the margin of victory right (subtract 10 from each team and I nail the score perfectly ).
    - 29,000 posts? I really, really need to get out more.

I think McRoberts might have a chance at a solid career.

Anyone have updates on our malcontents, Shawne and Ike?

Well, for my actual thoughts on the game...

A win's a win. New Jersey didn't have Devin Harris, but we didn't have Danny Granger. Or Mike Dunleavy. Or Troy Murphy.

So really, even though the Nets are a shooting for a top pick in next year's draft with or without Devin Harris, this is a game last year's team might have lost, considering who the team was without. But it seems like we're a very deep team. Graham and McRoberts stepped right in and contributed.

I hope O'Brien rewards McRoberts for his play and continues to give him minutes even when Troy comes back. His whole "stick to a 9-man rotation no matter what" thing is kinda stupid, considering the pace that this team plays at. Getting our deep bench players some extra experience probably won't hurt. And maybe we could prevent injuries by not overworking our first 9 players.

    Who and who?

I just have to say one thing: The Pacers have been a source of real fun for me for the first time since Reggie retired. It may be short lived, it may be temporary, but hey, I can't think of a single bad egg on this team. They all make me feel proud to be a fan of the team.

Ike is playing just about the same amount of minutes Jerryd Bayless is (virtually none).

Shawne Williams has played in ONE game so far, and only for three minutes.

I don't really know what to say that I haven't already said. We have a team again. Not only that but there seems to be a synergy from the front office to the coach to the players on the floor. I just don't see any conflicting messages.

Perhaps NOW is the time for the "One Goal" marketing campaign?

Yeah, it's early. You've got to think we're going to get a little full of ourselves and be taught a lesson or two along the way. Plus the better teams will figure us out and frustrate us. But I think this is a group that will respond positively to that challenge.

I realize I'm dancing on JO's and Tinsley's grave but I'm just so happy to see them gone AND to see what we've replaced them with. And it didn't take years of trying and waiting, mixing and matching, etc... It just took a concerted effort to get it done.

    Go Pacers!

I hardly recognize what it is that TJ is doing out there since I have not seen a point guard
on the Pacers in years. It was so bad I used to watch other teams third guard beat up on the
Pacers and I would wonder if we could somehow trade for them. Not the role is totally reversed and the Pacers third guard is pretty good. I sure hope they work on JJ and getting him signed.

So he's basically scoring 32 points per 48 minutes? Amazing.

I marvel out how well constructed this team. I'm still in awe of our point guards.

How did he get that ball in in that 3pt-play, final minutes? Very Nice. And a Jumpshot from close to the 3pt-line? WOW

He wasn't shy or hesitant about shooting tonight, that's for sure. I don't know if he can hit consistently, but it was certainly a welcome sight.

Unfortunately Ike's is only slightly above 8, he's no Hollinger All-Star.

Let's revisit our offseason, shall we? (just from a trades perspective)

    Incoming:Outgoing:
    T.J. FordJermaine O'Neal
    Rasho NesterovicJerryd Bayless
    Roy HibbertIke Diogu
    Maceo BastonNathan Jawai
    Jarrett Jack
    Brandon Rush
    Josh McRoberts

I know it's still early, but has there been a single disappointment among any of our acquisitions from the summer?

Right now it looks like Bird and Morway had a brilliant offseason.

It will be very, very interesting to see what happens when Dunleavy returns. Our defense, particularly on the perimeter and in the passing lanes, has been critical. His time away may give us a good measuring stick on whether his offense is worth more than his defense. That will be valuable information for this team for the remainder of the year IMO.

Now, we did struggle somewhat on offense when they put up a zone, but I think Granger would have helped resolve some of that. Other than this point, we did not miss Troy Murphy a whole lot.
