well, we got screwed. Amare played a great game. The refs were just terrible.

Bell's bail out call was the biggest joke I have seen on a basketball court in some time. You wouldn't get that call in second grade. Everyone would laugh at you and the other team would get possession.

Amare played a ridiculous game, but man what a puss for flopping like that. Seriously, Amare don't be such a girl.

Fell in love with the three and paid for it. Though watching Quis fall in love with the three is like watching your friend leave the party with the ugliest girl there.

Danny needs to be more aggressive. He disappeared in the second and third quarters of every game this season.

Having said all that, I think we win this game with Dun and Rasho, so I'm not too upset.

We couldn't stop Amare, so we couldn't run a lot. In the half-court game, they were better than us. More chemistry. And all those shots we clanked off the front of the rim in the 3rd didn't help.

This clearly shows what a lack of an inside game will do to you. No Nesterovic hurt
badly. Plus the Pacers need a physical powerforward in addition to veteran bigman.
Phoenix packed all five men around the paint and there was no place to go inside.

Offensive rebounding is practically nonexistent. Lack of a big really showed tonight. Worst game so far for Rush, but some of that is to be expected. It's exacerbated without Dunleavy though. Defense was poor throughout. Cleveland will be tough. Sat. v. NJ should be a shot at a W.

We're going to need a lot of people to step up against Cleveland. Danny will have his hands full on defense.

As far as the game goes tonight, I'm not too upset. We missed a lot of shots, and we got shot in the foot by some rookie mistakes.

On top of that, we have no one that could even slow Amare down. Time to regroup and come out ready against Cleveland and New Jersey.

18-22 from the floor, 13-13 from the line.

Tonight may have been the worst low-post defense I've ever seen.

Yeah the officiating wasn't very good. Amare showed his bad character tonight, I don't like his "I'm the best" attitude. You had a good, great, game, but you don't have to act like an *** over it.

Basing that on the 2nd half only. He was lost on D off the ball on multiple occasions that allowed wide open 3s. He missed a wide open bunny at a key point. He just looked uncharacteristically unaware and timid during that stretch when the momentum was shifting. I wasn't impressed, but obviously he's a rook and he'll have his peaks and valleys.

We just have no one that is physically able to slow Amare down. Apparently the coaches thought letting him have what he wanted was better than doubling down on him and leaving shooters open. Either way, it would have been difficult for us to come away with a W. We're short-handed, and still developing chemistry. Just one of those nights.

Yeah...but he should have been like 5-9 if he wouldn't have missed a bunch of lay-ups. And while missing lay-ups is obviously unfortunate, I don't really consider it "playing bad."

I didn't see the fourth, and I'd like to believe you guys, but was the officiating really that bad, or was it just a really upsetting loss?

    The latter.

There was a dubious foul that should have been a travel and a good-acting technical drawn by Amare. They were each relatively insignificant.

The fact that we let Amare get 49/11/6/5/2 was probably our main problem.

I would say it's just an upsetting loss more than anything. I wouldn't say the technical foul and the travel called foul was insignificant though. The Bell travel would have given us the ball back down 6 with around 2 minutes I believe. Instead, they got the ball back and scored on a layup and killed any momentum we had going.

The momentum that allowed us to score 37 second half points? Okay...Maybe not entirely insignicficant, but our whole offense was so frantic and sloppy for the entire last eight minutes that I can't believe an extra possession or two would have been the panacea that allowed us to figure how to score. And it certainly wouldn't have helped us stop Amare or Boris, who were making our interior defense appear non-existent.

Now I didn't see the game, so it may be that I have no right to an opinion.

But does anyone think it's a good thing that Quis led the team in shots?
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

I can't speak for everyone, but feel free to put me in the "God, no" camp.

Also...did Troy play in the 2nd Half?

True, the offense didn't look good at all in the 2nd half, but they did attempt to make a comeback late. Danny hit a couple shots, and Marquis had the 3 point play. Once they gave Bell the foul call though, it pretty much made it impossible to come back.

Edit- And no anthem, it isn't good. At all.
