If there's more of these DNP - CD, I wonder how Bayless will take it. Naturally, everybody wants to play but we've heard about his attitude over the summer.

Batum was projected in top 10, even pretty late in the game. He dropped for several reasons, including a supposed heart problem.

Which kind of heart problem? Etan or Tim Thomas?

Also...I only caught a few minutes of that game at a bar last night, but Roger Mason Jr can straight put the ball in the hoop. He's going to be big for them this year.

    Rudy! Rudy! Rudy!

Also, 3-0 Raptors - might actually win a playoff series this year?

French swingman Nicolas Batum, projected to be a late first-round NBA draft pick, stopped participating in a workout with the Toronto Raptors earlier this week after a stress echo test -- a treadmill test that measures the health of the heart -- came back in the "borderline" area.

Al and SJax combined tonight for 23 points on 25% (9-for-36) shooting, as the Dubs fell to 1-3 on the season.

Biedrins, OTOH, dropped 16 points and 22 boards in 36 minutes.

My fantasy teams all suck. I select players very poorly. By the way, have I mentioned how much I like Stanko Barac?

Harrington is loathed by Warriors fans at a very high level right now. He's not doing anything to help his cause and considering there are other options at the position, he needs to be dealt IMMEDIATELY. He's truly awful.

Jack was fine in the 1st half, okay in the 3rd, and horrendous in the 4th. I wonder if playing the most minutes in the league has something to do with it?

And Biedrins is easily the 2nd best player on the Warriors. Maggette has been atrocious, as I knew he would be.

    from sunday's knicks game

    JAMAL CRAWFORD: 31:47, 0-6 FG, 0-3 3PT, 1-1 FT, 4AST, 1PT

1pt in 31min from a chucker in a d'antoni offense? that takes skill.

Gasol (a real center) did that with only taking 11 shots.

Harrington (a fake PF) and Stephen Jackson combined for something like 9 for 36!

    Oh, the memories!

Maybe Memphis didn't get hosed in the Gasol trade like we all thought... everyone forgot Gasol for Gasol was the key piece of the trade. Marc is also a tougher more physical big man than his brother.

I am liking that young Memphis core.

    Conley
    Mayo
    Gay
    Arthur
    Gasol

    some potential there I think...

I'll be honsest, I was surprised that Marc looked good in the Olympics, and I had no idea he was capable of that kind of a stat line. I thought his hype was mostly due to his name. I was apparently dead wrong. Good for him.

He certainly impressed tonight, although some of it was due to the Warriors lack of personnel to guard him. Biedrins struggles with physical centers and for some inexplicable - and dumb - reason, Nellie is playing Harrington more than Turiaf. Once Turiaf got into the game, Gasol's efforts were curbed but he still played well. Has some nice offensive moves and as expected, his mentality and grit is the polar opposite of his brother.

Could he end up being better than his brother? I mean, he's only a rookie putting up stats like this. I can't remember if Pau ever did this in his first year. Plus like you said, his mentality is just completely different.

Maybe Memphis will get the last laugh. If only their fans realize it and start buying tickets before it's too late.

    Outlaw For Conley?

    Travis Outlaw | Trail Blazers
Don't believe the printed report that the Blazers have "offered only" (only?) Travis Outlaw to Memphis for point guard Mike Conley, Greg Oden's running mate at Ohio State.
Management of the Blazers and Grizzlies haven't discussed such a trade. I don't think Kevin Pritchard is looking to move anybody right now, but he surely has enough sense to get more than that for Outlaw, if a deal is made. -- The Portland Tribune

Conley's NBA career so far has been underwhelming, to say the least. Pritchard definitely didn't offer Outlaw for him, there are much better trades the Blazers can explore if Outlaw is their key piece.

I thought that rumor would be interesting because I'm sure there are many, myself included, who would think that getting Conley for Outlaw would be a steal for Portland.

On the other hand, I don't think that Conley would be a good fit beside Roy. They need a more Derek Fisher style PG. I'd think someone like Acie Law would be a nice fit.

I don't get it....unless they think that Crittenton, Mayo and Rudy can handle the PG duties....why would the Grizzlies want yet another Forward added to their rotation?

Spurs have to rely on career games from Tony Parker and Roger Mason in order to squeak past the Wolves in double-overtime. They're now 1-3.

Jesus, Tony Parker put up a 55/10/7. And Duncan put up a 30/16. There is no way they can keep this up.

I'll believe it when I don't see it. Tony Parker is gonna average like 25-28 ppg til Manu gets back. Maybe longer.

Look, your love of Tony Parker is well-documented. But did you miss the first three games where he averaged 26ppg and they were 0-3?

I'm not one to count out the Spurs but they need Manu bad. ASAP.
