I read somewhere that Kareem Rush won the starting job in Philly, he had a pretty good statline in their last preseason game. Makes sense because they badly need perimeter shooting.
He's nowhere close to the starting job...

Iggy is the starting 2 (not Green at 2 and Iggy at 3 which was an option), and Thaddeus Young is starting at 3. Rush still has to overtake Green for primary backup minutes and Lou Williams can always fill in at the 2 as well.

That little fantasy report on NBA.com had him as the projected starter for their opener tonight over Young, but Young may be injured. That being with Iggy at the 3 I believe.

He did start the last preseason game but I think some players were out.

I wouldn't say hes nowhere close, I read he was running with the starters at the beggining of training camp but got sidelined by an injury early on. Even if he starts I doubt he plays big minutes, they just need his shooting.

If Rush starts for Philly I expect it to look a lot like Sefolosha starting for the Bulls did last night: 12 minutes, 2 shots.

If Kareem Rush consistently starts over Thaddeus Young I will drink gasoline.

Also...watching Bosh is like watching a much younger version of JONeal.

    A young Jermaine, huh?

I guess that means the Raptors should just trade him now while his value is high.

JO looks great tonight, happy for him and hope he can maintain it. Their interior defense is already dramatically improved.

And call me crazy, but if you give the Knicks a solid center who can compensate for Lee and Randolph playing out of position, that's a very solid team. I'll be watching a lot of Knicks games this season...

Mario Chalmers had a nice outing as a starter in his first game, 17 points and 8 assists. Beasley... not so much. Knicks still won though, David Lee with 16 points, 11 boards, 5 assists. Haslem had a big game for the heat too, but both teams played undersized lineups.

Speaking of Rush's fellow Kansas alumni, Darrell Arthur had 11 points and 15 rebounds off the bench for Memphis in a loss to the Rockets... 22 minutes. Not too shabby for a guy knocked as undersized and a poor rebounder. Marc Gasol looks pretty solid too (12/12), Darko still sucks. Memphis has a nice core 1-5 if Arthur continues to outplay Darko.

Good night for Kansas Alum, Brandon actually got outshined a bit going off stats, but his defense makes up for it.

They could use a Point Gaurd too, Duhon doesn't seem all that impressive, at least not in the box score.

Duhon plays solid D, and aside from that, Crawford and Nate Rob handle the ball just as much, if not more...

Nellie never learns - 7-man rotation already. Jack plays 48 minutes, fades horribly in 4th quarter. Wonder why?

I love when the Knicks win. Now that they got rid of Isiah I can cheer for them to win again. The last 2 seasons I wanted them to lose so badly so that Thomas would be fired. Wishes granted and Game one is a Victory.

Glad to see that Marbury and Curry were on the bench. That bench is worth 30 million and it doesnt even play. Hopefully the Knicks will be smart and let marbury come off the books in their bid for Bron.

New Jersey won game One? I guess they havent heard that they suck. But Gilbert being out and Washington be the Washington Injureds doesnt mean a whole lot.

I like how the Lakers are being called the Champs when they have only beaten 2 teams....WHO DIDN'T MAKE THE PLAYOFFS LAST YEAR. BFD, Why dont they crown a few other teams while they are at it. I mean the Lakers have a strong push and a great team but please wait a few weeks, months even before you come with this.

    One interesting note:

Kevin Love was +20 in 19 minutes in a game that Minnesota won by 2 points. I don't think Gomes keeps his starting job for long.

Also, Spencer Hawes had a monster game for the Kings.

For those that haven't seen the JONeal dunk on Dalambert.......

    http://www.nba.com/video/channels/to...nba/index.html

It's at the 39 second mark. If you watch the sequence, JONeal blows by Dalembert and then dunks the ball with some explosiveness. It turns out that some hecklers were giving him the "business" right before that.

    http://www.thestar.com/Sports/NBA/article/527245

"They were talking about how I didn’t have it anymore ... I wasn’t in the game ... I make X amount of money," said O’Neal, who will make about $21 million (U.S.) this season.

O’Neal didn’t ignore the blather. He turned around and faced the trash talk. "I said to ‘em, ‘Okay, hold on,’” O’Neal would tell it later. “I said, ‘I’ll be in the game in just a second.’”

In just a second, indeed, O’Neal showed his first signs of explosiveness. He drove the lane. He dunked atop Sam Dalembert, the Sixers’ shot-blocking specialist, who fouled O’Neal in the tussle. But before O’Neal stepped to the charity stripe to make his first free throw in a Toronto jersey, he stopped and pointed at his tormentors.

I agree. He seemed in 06-07 form. My concern with him is that he won't last the whole season, not that he can't be effective.

There's a Tayshaun Prince for Stephen Jackson trade rumor starting to make some noise. It sounds like it has some legs to it.

Edit: Never mind, looks like the talks were from this past summer.
