Just going on stats, there are some interesting things to note from the first games.
Detroit v. Miami
Amir Johnson got 0 blocks and 5 fouls in 18 minutes. Rodney Stuckey scores 23 points and adds 5 assists and 4 rebounds.
After watching Wade during the Olympics, I was all set for Miami to be good this year. Then they trot out a starting lineup that features Chris Quinn, Y. Diawara, and Mark Blount. You can't tell me that a team with only 2 legitimate rotation players in their lineup is really going to bring Beasley off the bench. Beasley put up a decent line off the bench scoring 16 points and grabbing 6 boards in 20 minutes, though his +/- was -10. Daequan Cook was bad (4-15).
New Orleans v. Golden State
Hilton Armstrong had a good game filling in for Tyson Chandler who rolled his ankle. 14 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 block in 23 minutes. His +/- was a ridiculous +25. It'll be interesting to see what they do with Julian Wright this season. He's going to wind up taking minutes away from either Peja or MoPete. He had a strong game with 8 pts, 5 rebs, 2 asts, and 3 stls in 25 minutes.
C.J. Watson started over Marcus Williams at PG. Turiaf (7 assists?), Belinelli, Anthony Randolph (6 pts, 6 rebs in 18 min)and Azubuike played well off the bench. How does Brandan Wright only get 8 minutes in a preseason game?
Did anybody actually get to watch these games?
