Thread: Trojan help!

  1. #1

    Default Trojan help!

I have no clue how I got this. I had idiots who make this crap.

Either way, I don't know how to get rid of it.

    trojan-clicker.win32.tiny.h

I've run adaware and spybot (albeit very old versions) and i'm currently running Norton. Any help?

edit: I'm getting another popup now....Trojan-spy.win32.greenscreen

Don't ask Marvin Harrison what he did during the bye week. "Batman never told where the Bat Cave is," he explained.

    Malwarebytes anti-malware

    worked for me

    I also had to re-install
    Spybot and Ad-Aware
and run all three in 'safe mode"

    Various responses from security sites:

Trojan-Clicker.Win32.Tiny.h is a fake threat that appears in popups and desktop warnings by fake antispyware and rogue sites.

    1. Download Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware (mbam-setup.exe) and save it on your Desktop.
    2. After downloading, double-click on mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
    3. Follow the prompts and install as “default” only
    4. Before the installation completes, check on the following prompts:
    - Update Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware
    - Launch Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware
    5. Click “Finish.” Program will run automatically and you will be prompt to update the program before doing a scan. Please update.
    6. Scan your computer thoroughly.
    7. When scanning is finished click on the “Show Results”
    8. Make sure that all detected threats are marked, click on Remove Selected.
    9. Restart your computer.

This is one is from Geeks to Go, and looks simple...step 3 is irrelevant for you:

    Welcome to GTG.

    1. Download combofix at http://www.techsupportforum.com/sect...s/ComboFix.exe or http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe

Save it to your Desktop before you run it.

    2. Double-click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
    3. When finished, it will produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply.

    Note:
Do not click on combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall.
Go to the top of the page

Maybe I'm OCD - but if I even suspect something is infecting my computer I backup the documents I need and reinstall a fresh copy of Windows. That's the *almost* sure way to get rid of anything. I do it about once every 3-4 months.

I may do that if all else fails. I haven't completely backed up everything. But wiping clean is certainly surefire.

Yep most of the time. Unless the virus has corrupted the BIOS - but I'm sure you'll be fine. I love it when you have a fresh copy of Windows installed and everything runs lightning fast.

BTW, that first link at GTG cited in my post doesn't work. The second one does. I downloaded the combofix.exe to run it, since I'd kind of recommended it. Started it, but it wants me to close all windows, and I'm doing a laptop back-up myself, so I cancelled out of it for the moment.

I did run that software...the combofix....I didn't have the problem to start with, but it certainly didn't cause any harm.
