Default NBA To Announce Schedule Today

The NBA will release the upcoming NBA schedule today, according to a report by The Oklahoman.

Oklahoma City, still without a nickname, is destined to open at home against an Eastern Conference team, with Indiana or Milwaukee the most probable opponent.

Kobe Bryant and the Western Conference champion Los Angeles Lakers are scheduled to come to visit Oklahoma City on Feb. 24. The Lakers will return in March.

The Minnesota Timberwolves, a Northwest Division opponent, will be the second team to visit Oklahoma City on Nov. 2. The Atlanta Hawks are scheduled on Nov. 9.

I heard we were going up against Boston in our home opener. It would be nice to play the Fellers in the other game though.

Yeah, that is Saturday night Novemeber 1st. Pacers will probably have road games on Wednesday and Friday prior to the home opener.

My theory is it is best to play the really good teams (from the prior season) early before the catch their stride. Every NBA season the same thing tends to happen. A lot of teams are pretty even in November before injuries, schedule and talent, chemistry begin to take over. Also if you have a good coaching staff you can catch a few wins early in the year. Hopefully we play the Bobcats 3 times in November - Larry Brown's teams always start off very slowly.

...and, there are all kinds of slip-ups on there that refer to the "Oklahoma City Thunder"...

(Well, there were. A lot of them have been taken down already.)

I believe we're playing at Detroit our first game, and then at home against Boston in the 2nd.

    Then home against the Suns.

Shoudl be a fun first 3 games

I thought I read somewhere last season that the Pre-ASB schedule was much tougher then the Post-ASB schedule......is that the case this season?

If it's harder in the 1st half then the 2nd half....then that maybe a good thing.

It looks like with the exception of the long WC road trip, the post-ASB schedule looks much easier for the P's than the pre-ASB schedule. Hopefully this year's squad can stay healthy and gain valuable experience to put a run together in the 2nd half of the season. I don't see the P's being any higher than an 8th seed in the playoffs this year. The expectations just aren't there for me until next year. I'd like to see the P's get a 4th or 5th seed in 09-10.

good grief, looking at that national schedule- i almost think the lakers have a contract similar to what notre dame football had. they are almost always on some network every night. there are a few others that are almost always on too like cleveland but this is a bit much.
but then again- i guess it doesn't really bother me all that much since i rarely watch espn or abc games because simply their broadcast crews suck and they usually only show about 4 0r 5 different teams.
    same old same old.

I'm sure there's somewhere that states how many teams are on, but I checked and LA, Boston and Cleveland are each on 25 games. What's more, Cleveland ends the season with 6 out of their last 10 televised, including 4 games in a row. First time I've ever seen that. Even crazier that 2 of those 4 are against the same team, Washington.

[edit] Phoenix is on 25 times, as well. Charlotte, Minnesota, Sacramento, and New York join us with zero national games.

Also, I was surprised Dallas is on 21 times. Seems a tad excessive.
