Not a good trade for either team.

    For the Pacers:
Why would we want Ak47. Hes often injured and hes making over $15 million the next 3 seasons. Personally, I think he doesnt deserve that kind of money. He had 2 good years when he signed that contract, thats when he was good. We dont need Almond. We have stacks of PGs and SGs, theres no need to add another.

    For Utah:
They dont need, nor would they want Tinsley. They arelady have Williams and Knight. As for their "bigs", they already have Okur and Boozer as their starting big men. They have Collins, Koufos and Milsap coming off the bench. Where are they going to find room for Murphy (he cant play the 3).

I think if they Pacers want to deal with Utah, theyre going to have to do a Foster for Milsap trade. Utah already expressed interest in Foster and we could certainly use Milsap, a young and up coming big man that would have beneficial off the bench

Sorry, but this is such a garbage trade for Utah.

They wouldn't. The Jazz wouldn't be saving any money at all. All they'd be doing is getting a lot worse on defense and acquiring a guy who's basically the prototype for making Jerry Sloan's life miserable.

And for all the love/hate relationship Utah has with Kirilenko, they can't afford to just dump him for nothing. Who plays defense on their frontline if you replace him with Troy Murphy?

Despite AK's contract - way too good for us & not good for the Jazz.

(I would love that deal though!)

Definitely pass. I mean, Williams and Boozer haven't shown the ability to win a championship, so what are they good for?

You really ought to ask this question to people who propose trades where the Pacers trade Tinsley and get a shorter contract in addition to a 1st round pick back from the other team.

Utah already has a stud starting pg as well as a decent backup. Why would they want to pay Tinsley his salary to be a backup when they are in a good position as is? That would basically make this a Murphy for AK swap, which I don't think any GM in their right mind would do. AK is a much better player than Murphy will ever be. Also someone remind me why in the world Indiana needs another wing player.

No Way we give 2 expirings for AK, who's contract elevates the next 3 yrs (15+/ 16+/ 17+), having to resign Granger & trying to continue the "make-over" of this team in a cap/tax friendly way!
An acceptable deal would be more like:

    Murph/ Daniels/ Diener for AK/ Almond

Despite Murphs contract, he is sig. lower $ then AK, & expires 1 yr earlier. Daniels fills in @ the 3, but it's his expiring (actually a t/o) that saves them > 6 mil & allows them to keep Boozer, & maybe Okur too. Diener is a nice b/u to Williams.
We get a Defensive 4 w/ multi skills, & Bird lands Almond, the shooter he wanted l/y, + we trim the roster.
(This all said, I think Utah passes)

late to the discussion, but here goes.

i agree that the pacers can't afford to give up 2 expiring contracts for kirilenko. and i believe that the jazz aren't looking for a pure salary dump either - they'll want a useful player back.

that said, imo jazz wouldn't want murphy. he's basically a smaller version of okur. and he'll only take minutes away from millsap.

the player that the jazz will want from us is dunleavy. he'd fit right in as their 3rd scorer. defensively, the jazz would be a disaster, but that's probably true for any ak47 deal they do.

    kirilenko for dunleavy + expiring

something for both teams to think about, i think. for the pacers, is the talent upgrade of kirilenko over dun worth the extra $7-8m per year?

I like the idea of trading for AK47 who would address the Pacers needs at PF and has been impressive coming off the bench as a Manu-like PF (is there such a thing?) but I don't see Utah doing this until they know they've got Boozer through an extension.

And we know what happens when Boozer promises...
