Thread: Brad Miller, Kenyon Martin, and Jerrod Jeffries Available?

  1. #1

Default Brad Miller, Kenyon Martin, and Jerrod Jeffries Available?

The Bulls are in discussions for Brad Miller says a source close to the team. The team has also inquired about Martin, Jeffries, and Dampier. Would any of these players be possible options for the Pacers?

I'd trade Tinsley for just about anyone ....

    Except JO.

Wouldn't mind having Brad back, after his insane Sac deal runs out.

Kenyon Martin Good luck dealing him.

Jeffries? Another SF and an overpaid one to boot? Pass.

I think we should look at bringing back Gerald Padio or Kenny Williams over those named.

I would probably consider a Tinsley+Marquis trade for Miller....just to get rid of Tinsley...but I'm not sure how adding Miller's contract to the 2009-2010 season would affect our ability to resign Granger and Jack. Miller does fill a need for a scoring Big Man next season while clearing Tinsley's contract from the books by the 2010-2011 season...but I doubt the Kings have any interest in Tinsley now that they have Bobby Jackson.

As for KMart...the Nuggets would only move him if it was for SalaryCap Relief....something they desperately need......so I doubt that they would even any trade involving Tinsley+Murphy ( or Dunleavy ) trade.

As for Jared Jeffries....I would consider doing a Tinsley for Jared Jeffries...he's maybe able to fill a backup SF/PF role....but I doubt that DW takes Tinsley back.

Here's the link and blurb from the article:

    http://www.dailyherald.com/story/?id=224618&src=150

    From the http://www.dailyherald.com
    Written by Mike McGraw

The Bulls continue to explore the trade market with other players. With Reinsdorf and director of player personnel Gar Forman taking a greater role in contract negotiations, Paxson has been freed up to talk trades with other teams.

The Bulls have had discussions with Sacramento about center Brad Miller, a league source confirmed, and were very interested in acquiring Nets center Nenad Krstic, most likely for Andres Nocioni, before Krstic jumped overseas to sign with Triumph Moscow.

The Bulls also have discovered some interest in guard Larry Hughes, as long as they're willing to take a big contract in return. Since the Bulls need to thin out their backcourt, some possibilities could include Portland's Joe Przybilla, New York's Jared Jeffries, Dallas' Erick Dampier or Denver's Kenyon Martin.

Thanks for the link, I can't believe people think someone would make all this up, like it's that important.

It's not about making it up, it's about siting sources. PD could get in legal trouble if you don't reference people's work.

It's not that we don't believe you, it's that you need to cover the base legally.

Agreed. If that's the best we can get for JT, you take it. But I doubt Donnie wants him on his team again.

IF Donnie would take Jamaal on his team then SOMEONE in the Pacers organization has got some serious stuff to blackmail him with . In other words I agree with what you are saying.

If TBird's theory that Shawne was DW ( and not Bird's ) pick.....then maybe we can package Tinsley+Shawne for Jeffries. We are coming up short on the talent end of the trade...but I would consider it a "kill 2 birds with 1 stone while cutting my losses short" type of deal.

I would love to get Brad Miller here. I don't see how Bird could do it though with the whole "good character guys" speal going on now and Miller's recent drug suspension.

JJ would be cheaper to buy out than Tinsley.
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

Kenyon Martin would probably fill the greatest need. He played in 71 games last season and shot 54% from the floor. Always has been a good defender. But he's a head case and the Pacers should probably pass.

Miller is not as desirable. First, the PR issue. Second, we just picked up a true C in the draft and traded for another. We need a PF who can score and block shots.

Jeffries? I guess it would be better to have something than nothing. The only problem is, would Donnie Walsh willingly acquire Tinsley? I think not. He fits much better in Denver...

Troy Murphy and Shawne Williams for Kenyon Martin? Any takers?

Tinsley and Quis for Martin would be a good deal if Martin kept his head in the game. He fills a need on the Pacers at PF, he shoots for a high percentage, defends very, very well, protects the paint with blocking shots. Combine this with the fact Tinsley is absolutely worthless to us and Quis is not needed with Rush on board. It does not help us from a contract standpoint, so that would be a drawback.
