We use some of the extra luxury tax space we have to get Landry, while getting rid of some contracts. The deal is an increasing deal for about 4 years. We get rid of Tinsley and Williams. Houston gets legitimate talent in return for a player they would lose anyway in Landry. Bobby Jackson is a good locker room guy and an expiring.
Aaron Brooks 1.05M
Carl Landry (S&T) ~5.50M
2009 Second Rounder
Jamaal Tinsley 6.75M
Shawne Williams 1.57M
Houston will sign Landry in this option for a flatter/declining 4 year deal. It all depends on what kind of deal we are negotiating with Landry, but I honestly see it being a four year deal.
i think 4 or 5 million for Landry is too much. He should make around what Ike makes. The max we should offer Landry is $3million/season.
And I dont think Williams should be traded yet. He still has a lot of potential. Last year was a bad season for the pacers, players injured and no real PG. This year we'll see if Shawne is a bust or not
The only way im coughing up Shawne Williams is if I am getting someone with similar upside, ala a Brandon Wright baby, maybe even a Mario Chalmers, or a JJ Redick, come on Redick, most points in Duke history baby, that guy was a PTPer, he could shoot the trey, pop the shot, didnt matter where, didnt matter when!!! Bring him in baby!!!
