    Exclamation Brand to the 76ers

    http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-...,7626268.story

Elton Brand has reached a verbal agreement to sign a multiyear contract with the Philadelphia 76ers, according to an NBA source who requested anonymity because he is not authorized to speak on player movements.

The deal is believed to be in the $80-million range and expected to span five years.

Holy cow. I didn't expect that!
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

While this puts Philly in the mix they won't win a title. Brand is a Duke player they are all cursed.

Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Baron Davis just ****ed himself over.

Is Philly immediately one of the better teams in the East now?

It seems like it but Baron hasn't signed anything yet so he could always pull a Boozer

Yes Philly is a better team in the East now.

Wow. I wouldn't put it past Baron to pull a Boozer at all now. He has a much better chance of winning at GS if they can come to terms.

Philly is alot better now, but not Detroit and definately not Boston. I do however think it's arguable that they are better than Orlando.

Davis wants to be in L.A. as much or more than he cares about
winning. I'll bet he sticks with the Clips no matter what.

I always liked Powell. I wish we didn't throw him away in the GS deal, especially now. He hustled and could rebound, kind of reminded me of Dale Davis. I wish him the best out there.

Must be a reason the 6er's did the trade with Minnie!

That makes them instantly better, and a bigger player in the EC now.

Baron probably doesn't mind actually... He gets to play in his hometown, will likely force management to oust Dunleavy Sr., and will be able to fire up 20 shots a night with no actual expectations for his team.

In another deal today, former Clipper Corey Maggette reached agreement to join the Golden State Warriors in a five-year deal worth about $50 million, according to NBA sources who requested anonymity because they are not authorized to speak about player movements. Maggette also opted out of the last year of his Clippers contract last week.
