I also read that Bayless came off bad in face to face interviews. Said to have an attitude and arragant. Said to be a jackass

    Hey all,

I just live-blogged that whole 1st Round for my blog. If any one is interested (read: bored) and wants to check it out, feel free. Any feedback on glaring typos would also be appreciated as I'm sure it's pretty raw.

Some have said that the Toronto deal is still speculation, not a done deal. What if we didn't get Ford and didn't give up JO. Where do you all think we stand then?

Those are actual O'B comments ?

I agree that folks are overestimating the player that Bayless will be
in the NBA. But he's not a punk.

*sigh* we traded DJ white for a guy I never heard of...

It wasn't about being the team everyone loved, it was about beating the teams everyone else loved.

Lets trade into the second and get us Chalmers... come on.

Jack's APG+SPG-TO's per game = 2.33. Isaac, that doesn't explain why we took Bayless and then traded for Rush. Any other ideas will be welcomed, but that one doesn't pass muster.

I haven't drank heavily in 20 years, but I'm about to start. Hibbert is too slow to play NBA basketball. He will make y'all think Shaq is Shawn Marion. Ford is one hard foul from the hospital. His backup whom we gave away for an all-star is not a distributor and not a scorer...yet plays PG. We got a couple more white stiffs in Rasho and McRoberts to go along with Foster and Murphy.

NO ONE will man the paint and we will have to sit TJ Ford to have any defense whatsoever.

    Ok, where's the bottle?

You are not going to get the Pacers to draft (and keep) a young guy who has earned nothing but thinks he deserves everything so that we can have another problem that we have to get rid of in 3 years. You guys are acting like Bayless won rookie of the year.

With the 1st round over, some surprising players left in the draft for the 2bd round.

    Chalmers
    CDR
    Walker
    Jordan

    All were projected 1st rounders.

2 Indiana players pushed them to the 2nd round... George Hill and DJ White.

Couple of nice players for early 2nd round picks, but apparently Bird can't make a trade. No GM's want to fleece him worse than he already has been by Pritchard. Who I called within the last 24 hours in another thread the Epitome GM of using the system.

Bayless was not happy about dropping and going to Indiana. Not happy. Rush seemed far more excited. Stuff like that shouldn't matter, of course, but I don't think Bird and Obie liked Bayless's selfishness.

So we can have another good player.

    Nevermind.

Do we have the 41 or not? CDR and DeAndre Jordan still out there.

Let's get crazy and trade Foster for DeAndre. We need a "potential" pick.

McRoberts sounds wonderful. Even makes David Harrison sound better.

    NBA D-League Showcase, Day Four
    January 18, 2008
The ship continues to sink for the former top ranked player in the 2005 high school class, as after laying an egg in his first game here, he proceeded to have an even worse outing tonight, shooting 2-10 from the field. Josh McRoberts clearly doesn’t want to be here—that much is obvious from his body language, seemingly floating up and down the floor aimlessly “with his thumb up his [rear end]” as one longtime NBA scout put it. He’s coming off the bench behind two undrafted players in Lance Allred and Cory Violette who look destined for Europe—and quite frankly has not made any type of case for himself to be receiving minutes over them.

Offensively, McRoberts does not seem to have a consistent way of creating points for himself. He looked incredibly soft in the post, fading away from contact, being unable or unwilling to use his body to create space, showing very little in the ways of actual post moves, and settling for bad shots. On the perimeter, McRoberts is making things way too difficult on himself, pulling up off the dribble on more than one occasion for mid-range jumpers (air-balling one of his attempts), and even trying to shoot an NBA 3-pointer.

Defensively, McRoberts could not stay in front of any of the D-League players he tried to guard tonight, and did not really put much effort at all into this part of his game--being outhustled for rebounds as well. Opposing players have been going right at him in both games we saw here, and McRoberts really hasn’t responded to the challenge in the least bit.

The sooner McRoberts realizes how far he is right now from being an NBA player, the better off he’ll be. From what we can tell, the Development League is exactly the place he needs to be at the moment. His lofty recruiting rankings from high school will only take him so far at this point, as he looks pretty close to turning into a cautionary tale if he’s not careful.

Has anyone told Pritchard that you can only have 15 players?

I just chugged three bottles of water.

Okay...I am trying to sell myself this ****.

Ford/Jack is solid at PG...we don't need a point guard anymore.

Uh some compared Bayless to Jay Williams. Even if Arenas hell the Wizards seem pretty good without Arenas.

Please tell me...how and why is Brandon better than Kareem?

Of course the Clippers take Jordan, which means he will be out of the league in 3 years.
