Bulls' Noah arrested for possession of marijuana

    Sunday, May 25, 2008 | 1:04 PM

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Authorities in Gainesville have charged Chicago Bulls forward and former Florida star Joakim Noah with possession of marijuana and having an open container of alcohol.
Looks like we can take him out of any proposed trades with the Bulls.

In other news, today is Sunday, the sky is blue, and I'm pissed off about something.

My biggest issue is figuring out what Noah is doing still going to cup parties.

Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

Not exactly shocking after hearing him open his mouth in an interview about a year ago.

    So predictable...

I still just attribute that to him being an idiot.

This is clearly karma for the lottery and they surely have inherited Pacer luck. The downfall of their franchise is imminent.

    Noah looks - and acts - like a dude who's blazed 24/7.

Not surprised. Should put down the weed and work on his jumper...

If he wasn't toasted 24/7, he'd probably have no game at all.

There is only a few teams right now that the majority of the players would pass a drug test for weed. The 4 teams left in the playoffs, and I'd bet not all them would pass.

Wonder what would happen if a player that lives in California had a prescription for weed and challenged the NBA about it's use?

I think if a player needed a perscription for weed he would have bigger problems than playing basketball. I completely disagree with your statement about usage. I think a majority of the players don't use it, just like society.

A majority of the people who contributed to this post have experimented with marijuana.

Noah is stupid. Don't blame the weed though.

    Hoop,

It that were lifetime, I would agree with you.

But under current silly rules, I think the majority of players know the formula to follow regarding when to smoke/consume and when to lay off.

So, while I feel that greater than 40% of NBA players enjoy the benefits of marijuana at least annually, I think that most know how to skirt the rules in terms of when and when not to smoke it out.

Therefore, the majority of conference finalists would overwhelmingly test negative.

I know there is a statistic that shows the majority of teenagers has at least tried marijuana. I'd imagine that the stat stays pretty true as people grow older. In fact, I'd be willing to bet the majority of this country has at least tried it, if not used it multiple times. For the record, I don't and no I don't think it should be legalized either, but I also think believing that it is a small percentage or even a smallish percentage is kidding yourself.

You think that over 150 million Americans have used pot?

Why? Why is it that everytime that a NBA player is brought up, we have people who want to debate the use or legalization. Write your congressman and take it to UNPd.

I do not care about Noah and his arrest
The Facts is this; kid is millionaire he will be given pretrial diversion and if he did not have over 30 grams of weed he will only be charged with open container.

Legalization of Weed is no the big deal, the issue here is as follows the court system is ran by the government the more money the better the treatment.

First off, let me say this debate interests me little. But, for the sake of real numbers ... I stuck to government sites looking for a study of some sort. I'm sure there's other studies that have it lower. Does it matter? Either way, it's prevalent.

    http://www.oas.samhsa.gov/2k6state/ageTabs.htm

    Look at Table 2.

Did I read it correctly? $25+ million Americans in that year used marijuana, according to the estimate.

    Another study: http://www.nida.nih.gov/infofacts/marijuana.html

Nearly 45 percent of high school seniors in 2005 had tried marijuana in their lifetimes? Maybe, maybe not. But there's some numbers.

Now move this to some other board in the nexus of nowhere.

Noah's just an idiot. That's what I really think about the subject. He could be a nice player, though.

I really hate you guys. A full freaking page and not one of you lazy chumps has made the REQUIRED adjustment. Ugh. LG33, I expect better from you especially. I'll assume Redd is on vacation right now. Here's my first draft...

"Potential future Pacer Noah caught in major drug sting, Mike Dunleavy not apparently involved."

Sheesh, it's like we've got to write these AP headline ourselves anymore. They're really letting me down.

I would agree with the statement that the majority of Americans have at least tried it. I honestly have to struggle to think of people I know who haven't tried it, and I'm not even a user myself, I can only imagine it'd be harder to do if I was.
