That's pretty sweet that you got Doc to sign it.

Almost every time he ever mentions how good MJ was, he also mentions the fact that we were the only post-Bad Boys team that ever could have beat him. He's the only media guy (if you wanna call him that) who not only remembers that we were the only team that ever took him, but remembers that we had him beat.
Wasn't talking to you, funny man. Was asking in what way the Pacers reference was a cheap shot.
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

My bad, anthem. Thought you quoted Indy's "soft spot" post for some reason.

I normally enjoy reading his articles, but not this one. Too anti-Doc. Any coach that can get a team to play the defense they play is a good coach. The players are comitted to the system and it clearly shows

Very common for coaches to shorten the rotation in the playoffs. I figure as each round goes one less player is in the rotation

I do think Doc is only a mediocre coach though. I don't think he's managed the bad times as well as top coaches do. That's why I like Rick as a coach, but also why I respect coach's like Sloan and even Phil Jackson.

Coach's without players struggle, but good ones struggle less usually. Doc will sink as quick as the talent on his team does. But at least he doesn't F bomb it up like Isiah.

I don't know if I subscribe to that. Most coaches start shortening it before the playoffs and then tweak it if necessary during the first round or so. Otherwise you're just messing with chemistry. It is dependent on whether or not your stars are getting consistent rest throughout the year - if you as the coach feel they may be getting fatigued - it would actually make more sense to keep a pretty large rotation until the playoffs begin and then trim it down as you said. But I've always thought it was the norm to phase out the young bench guys in the last weeks of the season to get your playoff rotation into top shape, basketball-wise.
