I'd rather have Mike, and find a PG elsewhere, then test the JET at PG

I think Jet could be "great" here.

he can defend and shoot the 3. thats essentially all we're looking for.

my problem is that we trade dunleavy for an older guy with an additional year on his deal. terry has 4yr/$40mil left and mike has 3yr/$29mil.

so is an extra year and an extra $11mil worth a guy that is three years older?

if we could to a troy for dampier swap or a stack for tinsley swap -- it'd be much better for us. but i can't see dallas doing either so...

I would definitely consider this offer.

Terry is a better PG than Flip Murray. He's a better defender, scorer, and shooter than Tinsley. He's only missed 12 games over the past 9 seasons.

Don't forget that O'Brien played Iverson at the point during his one season in Philly and was very successful. Terry is a lesser version of Iverson.

It's interesting to take into account that Terry's Assist to TO ratio for his career (which includes a number of seasons where he played PG for a terrible Atlanta team) is 2.3. Tinsley's career A/TO is 2.4.

I'd be sad to see Dunleavy go, but with Terry as a starter, I'd feel better about our PG situation than I have since Mark Jackson.

i think we could get a better offer than Terry for Dunleavy. His contract is just as long as Dunleavy and he is getting paid a little more. I wouldnt want him.
