I wonder if this is bc they both know they play the same position and bring the same things to the table...

I don't know, again, I don't observe them around one another - but my guess is that both of them look over their shoulders and see the other one as competition in a sense. Mal you'd have a better sense of this than me, but given all things I would bet they have an internal rivalry. I mean, MDJ is only 3 years older than Granger - but I agree with what you've said in other posts - Granger scoring in the 30s in 3 straight is impressive. But at the same time MDJ isn't anything to scoff at either.

I think you keep Granger and let MDJ go if it comes to that - but I don't know that its that clear cut which guy is leaps and bounds better than the other one. I think one can argue it has taken MDJ some time to find himself, and that's fine, but he's had a great season as well. 26 tonight, not too shabby.
I'd be looking to trade Mike this summer for the best defensive wing you can get. If the offers are too low, then hang on to him, but hopefully a fair deal comes along. I like Mike too, but I like Danny more and he's a two-way player AND as you said 3 years younger.

It's not that I'm down on Dunleavy and want or demand he leave, but I think our team would benefit from a next-gen version of "Shrempf for McKey" / Offense for Defense trade.

Yes, I 100% agree that we need to look into moving Dun right now.

Finally at long last I can enjoy the remainder of the NBA season as the playoff charade is over.

I think that's a very over-used fear. It sometimes can be true, but it's far from 100%. Warts and hindsight aside, Brad Miller and Ron Artest were better for our playoff teams than they were for Chicago.

Secondly, it's not like Danny's being force-fed on offense to put up his numbers. He deserves to play as much as he does, he works for his stats, and his offense is not "well, he's all we've got, lot's have him shoot 25+ shots per game to get his 19 points".

I believe he was saying that I was patting myself on the back or something. I'm not sure. I do think it was intended to be a knock on me though.

I would rather keep Dun-Dun, but his trade value is high, especially if he has a shot at winning MIP this year. Upgrading the team on the defensive front is a must-have, so if it costs us Mike, then so be it.

I really want to see some improved defensive intensity, a little tweaking of the offense so it doesn't look quite so run-n-gun, and JO and Danny starting together. Can we go out and get a legit center? Probably too much to ask given what we have to trade with...

I don't know about everyone else but I really like having Danny and MDJ as our wings. If Jermaine is healthy next year and we find a solid starting defensive minded PG that can slash and drive to the basket. I think I need another Post player like maybe a Kevin Love to play next to JO.

I really like the direction this team is going. I hope Larry is patient and take his time fixing this team because I think faster is not always better.

Granger is playing out of his mind. Dunleavy with 26, 6 assists, and 3 blocks? No Foster hurts, but the Wiz were playing without a couple all stars.

The late surge by the Pacers made my 31 win prediction a bit low. I think they surprised a lot of us, and I appreciated being able to get behind them here at the end of the season. Let's have fun at the Miami game and give the bench some play. I look forward to an active offseason.

If we have the same roster +1 rookie going into training camp, the outrage and apathy would drive me to binge drinking and making bad decisions around women. Really bad decisions.

I don't know that you can't say that MDJ isn't playing clearly out of his mind either though.

I'm not saying that Granger isn't better, but MDJ has really stepped it up towards the end of the season as well.

Mike has played well, but I think Danny's ceiling is much, much higher. Mike should be able to fetch us a decent deal this summer.

I would like to build around the two of them. If we got westbrook, he could bring elite defense and athleticism on the perimeter. Run him at point but let Dunleavy run the offense in a half court set. Add a shotblocking presence in the center and things are looking up...

Westbrook and Robin Lopez in 08!!!!!!

I would also like to add that people are also forgetting Danny was gaurding Jamison tonight and held him to 12 points. I really hope he can develop into a great two way player like this, shut down the other teams best player and still average 20+ points a game.

I think if you want this team to get significantly better, you have to trade Danny or Mike. All the wings in the world won't get you anywhere without a point or a post presence.

I'd trade whichever gets us more in return. And considering Danny's still on his rookie deal, we could probably get rid of one of our crap contracts in the bargain.

I am extremely glad I passed on this game.

I don't need people seeing me cry/doing this in public:

i went and glad i did. i got $48tix for $12 and then my friend knew a guy that was 5 rows from the floor and got us down there for the 4th. so that was sweet.

sloppy game but mike was nice in the 1st and danny was big the rest. it was odd being immersed in wizard fans and listening to them say "What the hell happened to the Pacers? They used to be so good. Who the hell can they build around now?" Then there were some annoying young fans who kept screaming "FRODO!" every time diener touched the ball.

anyway the margin was only a handful of points but the game never felt close. too bad fiesty wasn't out there tonight -- though there was a hulk sighting.

That's sure what I was thinking while watching. I know people wanted to make the playoffs, but I sure hope nobody feels we should have.

Nice to see Nick Young playing well. I won't lie, if we'd had our pick last year I would have gone for need and taken Law. But I liked Young more as a player.

    That's AWESOME! I love it!

He's Frodo from now on as far as I'm concerned. If I get to meet him on Wednesday, I'm gonna call him Frodo.......

I think Dun Dun is a better passer, while Granger = more athletic and better defender, I can see them co-exist, but if we must move one, I hope it's Dunleavy, unless Granger can land us Oden, Derrick Rose type of player. Granger is just progressing right in front of our eyes every week, he's the last piece on this roster we should move.
