I was listening to this as well.

He mentioned "cap space" quite a few times during the interview pertaining to this summer. Does that mean JO is the most likable to be gone?

He said there were a lot of players that the Pacers could have had for practically nothing before the deadline, but said they just didn't get it done. Does that mean that Donnie vetoed him?

    What do you think?

I see a huge contrast in Donnie's Patience vs Larry's.

He mentioned the need for big men. I think Jermaine is gone.

By far the best player in college basketball. He said after Beasley there were about 18-25 guys that would be good in the league, but didn't want to mention any names.

Bird can't mentioned Beasely by name. He can say "He's a great player" if someone asks him about him, but he can't say the words Michael Beasley out of his own mouth. If he mentioned his name, he'll get fined because Beasley is an underclassman.

Nellie got fined over saying Greg Oden's name last year, IIRC.

Well, then he will be fined. At first he said he wasn't going to mention names, but then the first words out of his mouth were "Michael Beasley." I'm at work so I wasn't paying complete attention, but I'm pretty sure that's how it went down.

He did mention those exact words Michael Beasely

He was asked about Eric Gordan.
Lary Responded keep in mind just last year he was playing for a state highschool title.

This makes me think Bird wants to win in the next two years and is not going to take projects or unproven talent. He will unload Jermaine O'neal possible to New Jersey because they have several draft picks. Jermaine and Larry do not get along. They will not coexist together.

He came on actually around 3:40 or so and was talking about getting things moving in the right direction. He said he doesn't want to "blow it up" because he believes we have a good core of young guys.

When asked if he thinks that it's good for JO to be coming out and playing to show he still has it, he said he thinks it's always good for a player to be playing. When he watches teams he wants to see all their players and not see them on the bench.

They spoke about the crowds lately since the winning streak and what not, Eddie seemed to think that the crowds, although small, were getting loud and supporting them.

Larry said that the last few crowds have been good, he said he liked seeing them stand up after the Memphis game and applaud the win. He said he knows our fans are smart and he thinks that they enjoy the kind of offense we're playing, he says he knows we want better defense and the main thing is we want to win ball games.

He said JO is going to be back either Friday or Monday.

I think that it's a foregone conclusion that we will have to make some moves to help clear our salarycap situation. The Pacers owe 10 players a guaranteed $66 mil in the upcoming 2008-2009 season not counting Rush, Flip or even harrison. There will have be some "cost-cutting" moves to be made in order to even get us up to the minimum # of players that we will have before we get to the likely Luxury Tax limit.

I believe Larry will get rid of JO7 before Tinsley.

    JO7 is an Isiah guy.

If the Nets are willing to give us their late first rounder this year from Dallas and some youth the deal will be done.

I just do not like the contract of VC and feel he would slow the development of our all star for 2009 Danny Granger.
