Back in my teens we had a fawn around our place where both her front legs ended at the knees.

See, one spring I was mowing pasture with a sickle-bar mower. Mom got out of the way but the little one got 'em sliced clean off. She made it through the summer but I don't think she got through the winter.
You brute! I'm just so ashamed to admit I know you. You people who burn worms with a magnifying glass and cut Bambi's legs of with sickle-bars...you're just so, mean.

[B][U]Homebuyer Tax Credit - a $7500 tax credit that would be would be available for any qualified purchase between April 8, 2008 and June 30, 2009. The credit is repayable over 15 years (making it, in effect, an interest free loan).
Geezer - It's a down payment assistance provision....

First-time homebuyer tax credit to assist in making a down payment on a home - This would provide individuals and families with a refundable credit (equivalent to an interest-free loan) of ten percent of the purchase price of their home (up to $7,500). Taxpayers would be required to repay any amount received under this provision to the government over 15 years in equal installments. The credit is phased out for taxpayers with adjusted gross income in excess of $75,000 ($150,000 in the case of a joint return).

Thanks Spic, our Nat'l assoc. is not being very clear about any of this yet, merely what they sent out yesterday. I'm watching intently for the follow-ups.

It never ceases to amaze me how short sighted people can be.

Can you you imagine the moment of realization.

I'm just surprised this clown didn't get tangled into wires that brought a citywide power supply down that cost it's citizens millions.

    Another government bailout.

A college prof of mine was killed in a hot air baloon accident when he drifted into power lines. His GF was also killed. Funny thing was, earlier in the semester we had a class member killed in a small plane when it crashed into Lake Michigan.

I've spent the last 3 days at a conference that has pretty much sucked the life out of me.

I think I need beer - wonder if anyone in the office would notice if I toted in a 6-pack?

I am surprised that Horror on Canadian Bus thread was locked. How is hat UnPD? It is about some crazy dude who stabbed and beheaded a guy on a greyhound bus. Craziness I say.

Anyone that has children, huge your child today and tell them that you love them.

The last two days I have been in the hospital with my 1 year old neice, My brother and sister in-law after my neice had a major seizure and two smaller ones within a period of a few hours.

The good news is after just about every test that they could make an alphabet out of(MRI, MRA, CT, EEG, Spinal Tap, etc etc etc) they have found the cause and she is going to be fine, but it was damn scary for a while. After the first major seizure she was parylyzed on her left side for more than 2 hours.

She's doing fine now and will recover, though she's going to be on anti seizure meds for the foreseeable future to prevent a reoccurance.

prayers go out for the well-being...

a child could never understand the love that their parents have towards them until they become a parent themselves...

there are so many times i feel ungrateful for the love and affection my parents have given me...it pains me on the inside

    Thanks Belli.

I know I hugged the crap out of my son when I saw him.

It was scary as hell thinking about what was happening. One of the seizures I was holding her when it happened. I didn't know what to do and I felt so helpless. The paramedics and the doctors we dealt with were fabulous and very good at their jobs.

If you are ever in Charlotte and find yourself in need of medical help, I highly recommend the Presbyterian hospitals and doctors in the area. Presbyterian runs one large and several small hospitals in the area, and have a huge network of doctors, etc. The nurses, doctors, people, etc.are just tremendous caring people that are very good at their jobs.

Yeah - seems like the critter washing up on the beach has more politics potential than that one. Not that I had any urge to talk about some psycho who cuts off people's heads for the thrill of it.

Have you ever had one of those days where you drank too much the night before and didn't get any sleep, so your knees feel like jello, you can barely move, you've got to p*ss like a russian race horse, and think maybe it's easier if I just pee right here in my drawers?

    Or is that just me?

That guy doing the stabbing and beheading on the bus is one ****ed up story.

Now the beast in the picture....As someone else suggested, I think it could be a turtle without its shell....if its real.
