Most municipalities have laws against discharging a firearm within the corporation limits. Not sure where that gets him six years and 90 days (WTF?). I always thought that would be like a $500 fine.
Maybe he accidently shot a nun or something.

No - but he might find some people interested in doing some plowing.
    Then there's that.

Got to watch out for those row croppers.

My wife is from Denton. We were there last new Years. I took a funny picture of a shop in a strip center there, I forget what street- Bell, maybe?

anyway, there was a large sign over a door saying "beauty parlor" and another smaller sign over the same door saying "nightclub".

Then in the window next to the door was a smaller sign saying "chain saws sharpened"

That seems like a busy place.
I'd get a bit worried about security - guy walks into a bar carrying a chain saw you don't know if he's looking for his wife/gf to hack or trying to get the thing to work.

I don't remember Denton all that well - lived there about a year and a half 20 or so years ago. I do remember some shops around the courthouse, especially the Denton Hamburger House or whatever they called it. Had an awesome hamburger bar. They gave you a big chunk of ground beef on a big roll and you just slid your tray along what looked like a giant salad bar, throwing whatever you wanted on it.

Of course what I really remember was Texas Women's University. Smith Brothers Roping Supply was about halfway between where I lived and it. Was always good to wander down there and check out some scenery.

There was a Fry Street area too. Mostly we went to Dallas after work though.

We got married at the TWU Chapel. It was mid-August. By 7 PM I think the temperature was down in the double digits.

    Barely.

My favorite part of the Lawnmower story is the last line in the news article.....

A local lawnmower repairman tells the Journal Sentinel that Walendowski may have trouble fixing the mower noting that anything not factory recommended voids the warranty.
I feel bad for the guy who had to call the "local lawnmower repair guy for this information.

you might wonder what's so bad about a wedding in 100 degree heat in an air-conditioned chapel, then a reception in an air-conditioned restaurant.

You would be leaving out that 30 minutes after the wedding where the bride and groom stand outside the church and shake hands with all of the guests as they slowly pass by. The sweat is collecting in your shoes and you just want to tell these people to hurry it up.

That and the rice or confetti or whatever they chuck at you won't entirely be gone until about the time you have your first kid.

    SShhhhhhhh

The kids leave for bandcamp in the AM and won't be back until Friday.

Mrs. G is going too, but returns on Weds.

I'll be alone Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and part of Weds.

I don't remember life in my 20's and 30's being this consumed with chores.

    Sigh.

I've had a resp infection for over a week and finally went to the Doc Friday.

    He gave me:

-Some cough medicine with Vicodin in it
    -Antibiotics
    -Prednazone

I am well and truly stoned right now - feel like my brain's floating around outside my body. Prednazone always does that to me. Hope I don't have to sign off on anything important today.

I think I've got something similar DK.

Can't breathe worth a crap, non-stop headache which feels like a mega sinus infection, and some minor coughing along with a soar throat.

    It's awesome.

What was special was listening to my lungs when I lay down at night. Spent two nights in the recliner. One night I had a flock of geese when I was on my left side and a very angry cat when I was on my right side. Couldn't sleep for the noise.

That respiratory crap is no fun.
