Sorry to hear that geezer. Hope your Medicare Plan B covers it.
The drink? Now if Hillary would propose covering that, I could vote for her!

Think I'm gonna LOVE today - raining so I have the perfect excuse to do nothing. If the weather was good I'd start feeling guilty about doing nothing halfway through the day and go do something.

I'll do something the next two days - here's to nothing!

So I got up this AM and discovered that my 15 year old black lab has had diareha in every room of the house and it is ODIFEROUS!! The wife and I have just spent the last 2 1/2 hrs. cleaning hardwood floors, rugs, and carpets. And will prolly spend the rest of the day cleaning more spots we find that weren't cleaned quite good enough.
Turned the dog out in the pouring rain and she walked around the yard in squatting position for about 5 min. She has now found herself confined to the laundry room until we decide if it was accidental or if she is failing. She has bad hip displasia and we've feared she might not last another year. If her bowels are going, so is she.

That's tough - the best dog I ever had, an Aussie Shepherd, had the same thing happen when he was 15. He was still active even while this was going on but had diarrhea for two days. When I took him to the vet he said his body was shutting down.

Hope your situation works out better than that.

Yeah, the wife thinks it was the turkey burger she gave the dog last night. Becca almost NEVER gets human food. I've seen doggie diarrhea before, but not like this.

We arrived home a little bit ago to find that the dog had gotten out of the laundry room...........and we had another mess to clean up. Not as bad as this morning's but still.

I may not have to wait on the vet, Mrs G is almost of a mood to do the deed herself. (but she's being very nice with me and my pulled hammie or w/e it is)

Becca slept outdoor last night....and may stay there. Three episodes is enough. She may visit the vet today.

Then again..........I remember about 11 years ago I came down with the most horrific dose of Giardia, I lost 16 lbs. in one week. It's a parasite borne in the feces of wildlife. Dr. said I must have contracted it while hunting (ie..washing my hands in a creek or some such). Anyway, 1 day of pills and I was over it. May be a similar situation with the dog???

I am not looking forward to the time we put the dog down. Geezerette will be "OK" but Geezer Jr. has always been sooooo attached to her and then he is waaaaaay sensitive (it's a male trait in my family). He may be allowed some Jim Beam if it comes to it. This is the first pet Mrs G has ever had. She had eight bros and sisters so they were not allowed pets. She may also be allowed some JB (I make a wicked JB Whiskey Sour).

    Geezer Manhatten (drink of choice)

In a Manhatten glass with ice (4:1 ratio)

    6 oz. Jim Beam

1 1/2 oz. Gallo Sweat Vermouth (Martini & Rossi is fine but costs more)

    swirl gently

Additional # 1....a splash of merichino cherry juice will cut the edge off this

    ALTERNATIVE RECIPE

JB in a glass over ice with just enough Sweat Vermouth to darken the color.

The lab has spent the week-end out-of doors (she wants in soooo badly)

Yesterday she was still showing signs of having a "problem" but seems ok.

This morning I don't believe I see any signs of the problem (Lift tail and observe butt for left over liquid feces...anybody eating breakfast while reading that???) But I will be calling vet anyway. We've been washing her backside regularly to keep nats away. I once lost a dog because she became infested with maggots around her butt and tail. (Anyone for tacos and rice??)

NEW EDIT---Becca still has a problem and hemmies too.

Eating, drinking, getting laid - not w/Twes either.

Well, eating, drinking and thinking about getting laid is more accurate but I decided that "I think, therefore I am" counts for fantasies too.

I was damn close to a heat stroke. I slouched around the house all morning and then decided to go out and mow the lawn around noon. Smart decision, since that was the hottest time of the day.

I think I sweated off about 3 gallons of water.

By the time I finished with everything Mowing, weedeating, weeding the flower beds, spreading weed killer, etc etc, i had been out there 3 hours and had nothing left in me, I came in took a ice cold shower and laid in the recliner for about an hour.

Wise idea doing that during the hottest time of the day.

I went out in the woods around noon. Put up 2 treestands.

I had two jugs of water but it wasn't enough.

I was spent. Headache, nausea. Got home around 7 pm. Didn't feel human again until late evening.

    2 down 4 to go.

We had a great weekend. Cooked out with friends Friday.

Saturday we headed down to southern Indiana and checked out Marengo Cave.

That was cool. We had a good time.

The South shall rise again! Damn it, one of these times, it will come out different.

Wouldn't it be hilarious if just once without telling the crowd in advance, they performed the reenactment as though the south won and just not say anything. Let all the crowd wonder what the hell just happened.....
