    Saturday.

And thanks Slick. Hope you had a grand one too. Mine was wet. I was in Ann Arbor watching the Michigan football game when two blasts of rain came thru....the second one cause the game to be cancelled, too much lightening.

    Well, best wishes.

This is the one weekend I will root for Michigan, unless them beating someone in the Big Ten helps PSU.

And i think all the heaviest rain has hit two of my old hometowns, Wilkes Barre and Harrisburg. Some terrible flooding going on right now:

These are from right down the hill from where I lived in the Harrisburg Area, a lot of people I grew up with live right on these streets:

I worked at a grocery store right on the other side of this bridge:

As far as i know, no one i know has gotten hurt, but some have evacuated in both areas.

Doc may order a CT scan tomorrow to determine what it is.

The really bad thing about those photos is that floods aren't covered by insurance, unless you have flood coverage.

And then the really bad thing about flood insurance, is that all of it comes from the federal government. (It's brokered out to insurance companies but it's 100% completely controlled by the government.)

Hopefully, for them, that was considered a flood plain and the residents had the required policies in order to get some relief. I would hate being a small business owner and having that all come out of pocket. What a mess.

In Michigan, over the weekend, I noted they were running TV ads to get EVERYONE to buy flood insurance. Must need money vewy vewy badly.

Flood insurance, it's not just for your neighbor. Better to have it and not need it than to need it......

Actually they were very well done (not cheezy like the above) but they didnt mention the govenment aspect of it.

It appears the kidney stone was so small I didn't notice it's "passing"....well at least the pain disappeared as quickly as it started.

Or........it's sitting in the bladder just waiting for the right moment, then BAM!!!

If you are interested in this sort of thing:

I received the following bulletin from the Indiana DNR this morning:

Bovine TB investigation ends, wild surveillance continues

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana State Board of Animal Health (BOAH) staff has completed testing for bovine tuberculosis of all livestock herds linked to animals associated with an infected (or “index”) herd in southeastern Indiana.

Quarantines on the index site, located in Dearborn County, were released officially in August, after the site and facilities were depopulated, cleaned, disinfected, and then left empty for 60 days.

The investigation began in late December, when a Mycobacterium bovis-positive beef cow that tested positive at slaughter was traced to southeastern Indiana. Since then, BOAH staff tested more than 1,000 head of cattle and 3 goats that had contact with high-risk animals associated with the index herd. Another 174 animals in 10 states also were traced to or from the herd.

Throughout the investigation, only 15 beef animals, all part of the index herd, tested positive on culture for the disease. All were euthanized for confirmatory testing.

As part of the investigation, 47 free-ranging white-tailed deer on or near the index site were collected by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Wildlife Services for testing. None tested positive for TB. Wildlife surveillance efforts will continue during this fall’s deer hunting season.

Since 2009, more than 690 deer from Franklin, Fayette, Harrison and Wayne counties have been sampled for TB when hunters check their animals at DNR stations. With the latest cattle case, that surveillance will be expanded to include Dearborn County.

Indiana has held a bovine tuberculosis-free status since 1984 with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Under federal guidelines, that status remains. The last time a Hoosier cattle herd tested positive for the disease was in the 1970s.

Bovine tuberculosis is a chronic bacterial disease that affects primarily cattle, but can be transmitted to any warm-blooded animal. TB is difficult to diagnose through clinical signs alone. In the early stages of the disease, clinical signs are not visible. Later, signs may include: emaciation, lethargy, weakness, anorexia, low-grade fever and pneumonia with a chronic, moist cough. Lymph node enlargement may also be present. Cattle owners who notice these signs in their livestock should contact their private veterinarian.

More information about the disease and details for this fall’s hunting season will be available online at: www.in.gov/dnr and www.in.gov/boah.

I would like to thank the State Biologist that sent me out on a wild goose chase last night.

I was told there was to be Quail Forever club establishment meeting in Moonsville, Monday at 6:30. I arrived early and not suprisingly there was noone there yet. The club president then pulled up and told me she was on the phone with the Biologist and he was sorry he forgot to tell me that it was Monday, October 1st.....not last night.

Moonsville is about 1/2 way between Alexandria and Chesterfield really out in the sticks I live in far western Hancock County.

I did get to see some beautiful countryside tho.

This has been one of the best nights of regular season baseball I have seen in some time. All the games have been good tonight and this is exciting regular season baseball.

Wow and the Rays win in walk off fashion to clinch what a comeback.

Geezer Jr.#2 took a doe first day he went out. New plot we have to hunt but IMPO 11 acres isn't big enough. Guy wants the deer out of his wife's flowerbeds tho.

So, can I trust Outdoosrsman to set me up with a good archery set-up?

Um well I got a much better deal from Gander Mtn. It may not be a Hoyt but I'm old enough to know the Bear is gonna outlast my hunting years.

Now, will the Outdoorsman help me with tuning in the bowsights?
