It occurred to me earlier today that I hadn't physically written a single letter of the alphabet in over 3 days, best I could remember. I assume that's also the case for a number of people in this computer age, that kind of scares me.

The Mrs. gets addicted to watching these Nancy Grace POS murder shows. I keep telling her this stuff is going to warp her mind. One thing of interest in this latest twisted trial I noticed is the use of a BOSE WAVE radio in the court room.

You reckon the Bose company would like to take advantage of this? When you're in the heat of cross examination and trying to box a female in the corner for a death sentence use only Bose. Make sure every filthy sex quote is clearly heard and every gun shot resonants in the room. When professionals are looking for that killer sound Bose is the only way to go.
You know how hippos are made out to be sweet and silly, like big cows, but are actually extremely dangerous and can kill you with stunning brutality? The Pacers are the NBA's hippos....Matt Moore CBS Sports....

Suddenly (at Christmas break) a 26 year old moved into Geezerettes house in b-town as a sub-let situation. Now we hear that the girl has different guys over at about any time and they spend the night with her. One of the roomates came home from class and found a guy sleeping in HER bed.
The reports are the 26 yr old is heavy into pot and drinking. Now I know Geezerette is no choir girl but this is not a good situation. In any event....my daughter is turning 20 this month (still a minor) and the 26 year old is contributing to the delinguincy of a minor (if it comes to that, yes, I'll call cops).
Prefer that the roomates work this out themselves but Mrs G and I will be going to B-town following Spring Break to have a "talk" with our daughter. Mrs. G's main concern is protecting Geezerette from danger of rape.

If your daughter is not into drugs, sounds like an easy situation where roommates just boot the 26 year old.

People in New Orleans are amazing!

They are so helpful and generous, I mean. I was there this past week for a conference and on my last day I managed to get away from business and strolled down Bourbon Street to take in the atmosphere. There's lots of interesting businesses down there, and they are eager to get you to come inside and experience what they have to offer!

One guy in particular assured me that I should come into his place if I really liked women's breasts (well, he used a slang term for breasts, but I've cleaned it up here). That was amazing to me, as I confided in him that I do indeed support the "save the ta-tas" effort and I am very much interested in eliminating the scourge of mammarian malignancies. He gave me a quizzical look, but warmed up when I further assured him that I was very much interested in supporting the fund-raising efforts of his establishment.

Have found common ground, he happily led me in and another kind fellow escorted me to a comfortable seat inside, where the fund-raising event was in progress. I have often helped raise funds for breast cancer research through events like silent auctions, bake sales, car washes, and the like. New Orleans residents take a much more creative approach, though! They involve young people in the fund-raising effort, particularly young women who seemed to be in their early 20s, collecting the donations from patrons.

Their methods of collection are also quite inspiring. As a way of paying tribute to the cause of breast cancer, these women left their own breasts uncovered!. They also would swing from poles, as if metaphorically saying that we as a society must "swing into action" to fight this dread disease.

The New Orleans economy is not the best, apparently, and most donations seemed to be collected in dollar increments, but the young women seemed eager and excited to even receive such modest donations. Then when some patron offered up a 5, 10, or 20-dollar bill, you should have seen the excitement! The young lady literally leapt into the lap of the donor!

All in all it must have been a very successful fund-raiser. I was hoping to get a receipt for my donation, for tax purposes, but that didn't seem a viable option. I guess it is hard to keep track of all of the donors and the specific amounts given.

I should add that this coordinated fund-raising effort seemed to be in effect all over the French Quarter of New Orleans. There was even a spirited rivalry among the different establishments, as several times the men at the door assured me that the young women at his facility had the "largest breasts in all of New Orleans", which I suppose was also a metaphor for the belief that the young volunteers working in his building were the most kind-hearted and committed of all such workers in their fair city. Every place I went showed such eagerness in the effort, though, that it was hard to judge who was in fact #1, or who had "the biggest breasts of the Big Easy". I suppose I could give you a rough rank order of the top 25 or so, however.

What an amazing town! I wouldn't be surprised if such fund-raising efforts could be successful elsewhere!

Geezer Jr. graduated from IU this weekend (anybody need a choir director?) But the real news is that driving up 37 from Btown I hit a deer that casually walked into the road. A mile or so south of the Southport Rd. intersection a doe just slowly walked out into the road. I saw her in plenty of time to swerve into the left hand lane but then WHAM!!! and I mean it sounded like I'd been hit by a pick-up truck, right into the side of the Prius she came. (my mother prolly got an education as I was talking to her on the ol' handsfree car phone at the time). I eventually got over in the slowdown lane and turned on Southport Rd and pulled into the BP station there. Expecting the worst for my little car I was shock to find not even a scratch on her. NOTHING (well, nothing when looking on a dark rainy night). Yesterday morning I again looked and finally found a spot on the passenger car door that had a dent similar to what hail damage looks like. That's it, I can pull that our with a toilet plunger and be back to showroom shape.
I looked up and down that stretch of road yesterday and did not see any sign of a deer laying in the median or along the side of the road. Hopefully she just got a severe headache out of it and learned a lesson about walking out into traffic.

    this story made me LOL
    ------

As a guitarist, I play many gigs. Recently I was asked by a funeral director to play at a graveside service for a homeless man. He had no family or friends, so the service was to be at a pauper’s cemetery in the back country. As I was not familiar with the backwoods, I got lost.

I finally arrived an hour late and saw the funeral guy had evidently gone and the hearse was nowhere in sight. There were only the diggers and crew left and they were eating lunch.

I felt badly and apologized to the men for being late. I went to the side of the grave and looked down and the vault lid was already in place. I didn’t know what else to do, so I started to play.

The workers put down their lunches and began to gather around. I played out my heart and soul for this man with no family and friends. I played like I’ve never played before for this homeless man.

And as I played ‘Amazing Grace,’ the workers began to weep. They wept, I wept, we all wept together. When I finished I packed up my guitar and started for my car. Though my head hung low, my heart was full.

As I opened the door to my car, I heard one of the workers say, “I never seen nothin’ like that before and I’ve been putting in septic tanks for twenty years.”

    Apparently, I’m still lost…

It is very frustrating at times being the first person in a circle of friends to get married. I am such a bad friend since I had to cancel plans because something came up with my wife and I needed to be there for her and not sit around playing videogames all night and then watching the Pacers game.
