    Default Ship Shawne Out?

Could we send him to Fort Wayne to play in the D league for the rest of the season?

What good would that really do? I mean I guess the playing time might help, but if this is a PR move regarding what broke yesterday, I don't see a reason to do it.

As for could we? I think so; I mean he's only a 2nd year player.

Sending him to Ft Wayne wouldn't prevent him from living out of his home...

Fort Wayne is a pretty crime ridden area? Or am I thinking of Gary?

So you wouldn't think it'd send the message for him to grow up? I would think having to spend time going back and forth or whatever might give him time to think about life and stuff.

He knows he can't be sent down after this year anyway. It's not liek they could threaten him with it.

In the end, he still comes back to a locker room filled with people who don't respect authority. What kind of a message do you think that sends?

How about the Pacers ship him to the Warriors for one of our end of benchers (Kosta Perovic, a sign and traded Patrick O'bryant) and a 2nd round pick.

Our bench guys are pretty high character. O'Bryant is a great cook and the Pacers can cut the cost of having a team chef.

Then on the flip side Stephen Jackson can always crash at Shawne's place after a night out on the strip clubs just in case he needs to lie low.

    I think it's a good trade.

Not if those people are traded during the off season.

Shawne might not be a bad apple and might straighten up around better people. Fort Wayne might be a chance to get away from some of those influences - both at home and at work.

We say that every year. It's a tired refrain.

In the end, one or two guys will be shipped out, but one or two more will remain, and Bird will wind up bringing in another guy with issues, just like the last few years.

Yeah I was thinking we could threaten the players to trade them to a place that no one wants to go to, but then I realized that they are in Indiana...

Maybe that's why they're acting up... to get traded out of Indy?

Nah... that'd be giving them too much credit in the cranial department.

Lucky? Lucky is if the other 6+ teams that passed on him were asleep. They should have known to take him, if it was so obvious.

I think it would be beneficial to Shawne to play a bit in the D League. Not as punishment, just to develop him a bit. With the logjam we have at his position right now, it's hard to get him in the game for an extended period.

    No, We cut him!!
I said we should cut Tins maybe 2 years or a year & 1/2 ago.
Everybody said "No, he'll come back to haunt us w/ another team."
    We barely ever win.
Would Tins or Williams having a good game against us even matter?
No, and players coming here or already here would of said
"Man, I better not mess around."
Instead, the TPTB have handled each situation w/ sissy punishments!!
I haven't heard of 1 punishment come down from the front office & thought "Wow he really got we he had coming!!"
We need a guy like Bob F'n Knight here to run this team. Jesus!!
Let Coach Dackich have his shot, he earned it.
Just give me somebody in the office w/ balls that will cut a damn player no matter how good he is. Cut him!!!!! Period !!!
It is absolute B.S. I have to watch this ******!!
You cut him w/o pay & if that doesn't fly w/ the Players Union then you cut him & pay him or buy him out.
He does NOT deserve a Pacer uniform & I do NOT ever want to watch him play basketball for free.
I will freeze in hell before I pay to watch a team play that has Williams on my side.
    Mark my words!
Even if it is the Finals (hahaha)!!!
He just better hope that the suspect broke into his house & took his keys w/o asking or by force !!!!
    1 - 2, Tinsley's coming for you.
    3 - 4, You're not a team no more.
    5 - 6, He's gonna plead the 5th.
    7 - 8, He's gonna stay out late.

This is the worst thing I could say about him - "I don't even care anymore what they do with him."

Gary. I live in Fort Wayne and it's pretty tame around here...compared to Indianapolis anyways.

No, not at all. I'd love to see Shawne come up here and play. It would be pretty damn exciting honestly. Yes I am only thinking of myself here. Nothing wrong with that.

    I'm not worried about shawne.

We get tinsley, daniels, and harrison out of here and maybe start winning some games a year or two from now nobody will remember shawne's transgressions, which were the most minor of all of them. Thats assuming there are no more, which I lean toward thinking (hoping) there wont be. If there was ever a time for him to totally cut ties with that memphis crowd now would be it. I tend to think he is still young enough to learn from his mistakes, but twice is certainly enough already...

I really want daniels gone... I would much rather see stephan graham get his minutes anyway... dump him for expiring salary.

I think Indiana should trade franchises (management, players and owners) with any other team in the NBA. Call it the Indiana Grizzlies...lol.

IMO, that's the only way out.

Ironically enough, Shawne's house has been for sale for several months, so maybe he knows something we don't? Either that or he doesn't want murderers knowing where he lives at.
