Default Why not sign the Birdman Chris Anderson

This organization needs some excitement why not sign the Birdman? It would get our team some publicity and we need a big man to fill the void if/when JO ever comes back. He would be great to watch on the fast break and could be the shot in the arm this organization needs.

Considering he was kicked out of the league for drugs, I don't think he would exactly help the Pacers' PR at the moment.
WE ARE NOT GETTING ERIC GORDON

The only way our organization is going to do anything this year is by signing a free agent. I know he was kicked out of the league for severe drug use (not the ganja) but we have one roster spot left and instead of signing then cutting Courtney Simms for the third time bring him in for a workout and see what he can do. Rush worked out well. You have to admit he would be fun to watch dunking the ball pre game warmups.

Ya, why not sign a guy that smokes so much he puts the rest of the Pacers to shame? Lol, sorry, but that is a horrible idea.. I always though he was a little "off" and when the drugs thing came out it made sense. We don't need another guy that pulls in more news headlines then sports headlines.

I've always been a fan of Andersen's (it is spelled with an e) so I would love to add him to our roster.

A couple points you'll need to know.

    1. He's been taking drug tests on a weekly basis for more than a year.

    2. He's submitted the proper paperwork to the league, asking for re-instatement. The last I heard, Stern will rule on this before the end of the month.

    3. Once he's re-instated, the Hornets will have 30 days to re-sign or renounce his rights. He can't sign with any team until then.

I think it would be a feather in Sterns cap for Andersen to make a come back. It would show that the league cares about the person first, then the player.

Let him get his life right first then see if he can still play.

If New Orleans passes I would think someone will sign him to a 10 day contract, maybe 2, before they sign him for the rest of the season.

More than anything else, I think it looks like he has his demon in check. From here on out its all icing on the cake.

EDIT: This talk about Bird & an all white lineup is a disgrace, it severly weakens this board.

I agree, I made a joke about it yesterday thinking I was cute. And after thinking about it the whole things seems old and dumb, but anyway even though some of the more avid NBA fans might understand why the Pacer's want to give Andersen a shot I just don't think that there is anyway they would take a small chance on any other bad PR in this city. No Birdman for us.

    I disagree.

If Harrison remains a Pacer, much less Tinsley, anything is possible.

I'm down. Dude will come back playing harder than ever, purposefully keeping himself sober, and he'll be really fun to watch.

Plus, we've got nothing to lose at this point. Another season like this and I'll go crazy.
    The NBA ... it's fannnnnnnnn-tastic! I LOVE this game!
