Default VC to Orlando / JO to NJ

    Pacers enter rebuilding mode...

NJ and Orlando include their 1st rounders this year:

Orlando won't do that. They are paying Dwight Howard Max money and they're also paying Rashard Lewis more than Dwight (LMAO at Rahsard's deal).

They can't afford to add another $15M/year contract. If they did that deal, they'd have anywhere between $45M-$54 a year tied up in THREE players .

Needles to say, they would be well into luxury tax territory. Their owner won't pay for that. Won't happen.

like the purpose of the deal. some guys here does't get the idea that we can't deal JO for the value he USED to have or even at EQUAL value.(this is IF we are to deal JO. IF) cause; 1.injured history 2.many vet's already moved to contender or young&talented yet need a vet teams 3.it's the Pacers who is willing to deal(or known as this way for ever. even though it wasn't confirmed officially by the INSIDER)

is it only me that doesn't know how to add a draft pick on Trade Machine or is it impossible.

No, we would have to drop 2 players, and none of the guys we get are quality players so I just don't get why we would want to do it anyway.. Even if we were rebuilding.

Put in Battie and it would prevent them from breaking the cap and JOB would be happy to pick up his fav defensive post master...

Orlando does this and there in the same sentence as Detroit and Boston.

Throwing in Battie on Orlando's part does nothing to change the fact that they'd still be spending $45M -$54 on 3 players.

Basically, they'd have to fill out 9-12 more roster spots with less than $25M to avoid the tax.

    It's financially infeasible

Isn't NJ currently in a similar salary structure and under the cap?

d_c, i don't agree that orlando will not be willing to take on another big contract. owners do understand that, in order to contend, you almost always have to pay luxury tax. orlando's risky move (shard max contract) looks like it's paying off, so the logical next move is to swap those expiring contracts for another impact guy.

the question is, is carter and his 3 years remaining that impact guy for orlando? i don't really have a good read on that. though i would think a player like j.o. (big guy, shorter contract) would be more attractive to orlando than vince.

i expect both orlando and miami to be making some kind of move before the deadline. their expiring contracts are valuable right now - with so many teams looking to cut salary - and letting those contracts expire won't put either team substantially under the cap.

yes, with kidd, carter, and jefferson. but they weren't under the salary cap. you meant luxury tax threshold i guess?

when you have a "big three", it's almost inevitable.
