    So I took da kester's masterful words, borrowed the main chord sequence from a friend (he happened to be playing it during rehearsal) and came up with this (warning: even sloppier and more unfinished):

    Once again, Raskolnikov my young friend, I am blown away hearing the words put to voice and music...thanks for that.

    Where can we hear Broccoli? (If that is not the name of your band, I just asked you a very strange question.)

    We want broccoli. We want broccoli.

    ALSO!!!! I am not the only person around here with more words that could be posted...quit being such a chicken, and lay those lyrics, odes, limericks, and what-have-you on us!

    It won't hurt.

    Thanks guys. As of now, you can't hear Broccoli anywhere yet (we haven't even done our first real gig), but we were thinking of creating a Myspace. Or if anyone knows something better than Myspace for this....let me know!

    The Bad Rap

    Well it's mothertucker this
    and it's mothertucker that;
    Throw another N-word in,
    Talk about some bitsh again,
    Now you're talkin' rap; now you're talkin' crap.

    Kicked out of school when I was just 16;
    had to quit the 8th Grade 'cause I'm much too mean.
    Me and my homie got a gig at the club;
    couldn't play no music, so we learned how to dub.

    Well it's mothertucker this
    and it's mothertucker that;
    Throw another crackuh in,
    Talk about some ho again,
    Now you're talkin' crap; now you're talkin' rap.

    Old folks used to listen
    to the back-beat in the rhythm.
    All that ***** is much too hard;
    watch me while I nod!

    thump (nod) thump (nod) thump (nod) thump (nod)

    And now it's mothertucker this
    and it's mothertucker that;
    Throw another shizzle in,
    Talk about some bitsh again,
    Now you're talkin' crap; now you're talkin' rap.

    College boy white kids
    workin' for the mtvids
    try to intellectualize,
    make out like I'm street-wise.
    Yo!
    Bees suck sap.
    Wannabees rap.

    Loaded with 5.56

    The guns of the innocent
    who made their buddies a covenant,
    loaded with 5.56

    as they put a load down-range,
    never thinking the action strange...

    they're loaded with 5.56
    and the innocents come into range.

    here's something i use in my band...

    it's called 'Shot with your own weapon'

    I had to say with bad perceptions
    “I want to go somewhere that I should know”
    Limitation of legislation
    I should have been there but I’m too slow
    Lack of vision and intuition
    I should have starved but I guess I’m cold

    Violence is a rort though I should have won by more
    Dazed but wishing that you were there
    And I’m saying this life is not enough
    I’ll be fighting for everything that you can’t

    Hedonism, sadism
    Lost inside my own pessimisms
    Intermission, what condition?
    Glad I find solace in idealisms
    Did I mention I’m a heathen?
    Spare me from your generalisations

    Violence is a rort though I should have won by more
    Dazed but wishing that you were there
    And I’m saying this life is not enough
    I’ll be fighting for everything that you can’t

    And another one..

    This one is called 'The facial hair epidemic' ... I wrote is as a tounge in cheek response to when everyone began to grow breards and goatees a few years back.

    Tonight as they walk the streets
    Marching in line and time
    Behind their beards they will hide
    Running all around with nothing but styles on their mind
    Running all around just living their same old lives

    Well they had a subject, a quest for a perfect score
    Nothing to hide but secrets, secrets can’t control our lives
    Going armed in public with the mantle on their chin
    Riding on public transport to a supermarket store

    Time to meet at the town hall
    Time to take a stand
    Just to peruse their views
    Running all around committing their facial hair crimes
    Running all around just kicking the same old lies

    Well they had a subject, a quest for a perfect score
    Nothing to hide but secrets, secrets can’t control our lives
    Going armed in public with the mantle on their chin
    Riding on public transport, coming soon to a store near you.

    Feel like sharing this one. Will add an mp3 later. Criticize all you want...

    When it's all over

    When it's all over

    The storyteller shuts the book
    The maid is luckily off the hook
    The lovers reunited now and safely locked away the crook

    But the princess is far from bliss
    She wants another frog to kiss
    She'll have to accept her cup and take what's on tap

    When it's all over

    It's all over now

    I like Trapped Now and Leonard Cohen a lot. It's all good, but those were my favorites. Thanks for spelling my name right.

    I decided to starting writing poetry once.
    I lost my "journal" halfway though my first attempt at a poem.
    I took that as a sign that it was not to be.

    When I saw 3 lines I thought for sure it was going to be another hiku.

    Nah, I don't consider my haiku to be real poetry anyway, more like engineering. Not to say that I haven't churned out a few reasonable ones.

    Thanks for the comments Right now, my personal favorite's Bored in the gourd, because of the lyrics, and because of the fun guitar riffies I put in there. Really pleased with the result I gotta say. I think, of all songs, it sounds most "finished". Sorry I didn't send it to you like I said I would.....it's just that I never really got to it and then yesterday it sounded immediately right with the single notes added....
