    Default Words We Wrote

    Bored in the Gourd

Well, I’m bored in the gourd.
    Said I’m bored, bored, bored.
    Gonna take a taxi
    To the ‘mergency ward.

    Gotta case of lassitude,
    Gotta case of blue.
    Just don’t care ‘bout nothin’
    Since I cared about you.

    A beer over here!
    Make it fast, fast, fast.
    Gotta get on home
    And cut the damn grass.

    Gotta case of platitudes
And all of them are true.
    Just don’t care ‘bout nothin’
    Since I cared about you.

And I’m dead in the head.
    Said I’m dead, dead, dead.
Gonna go back out to my house
    and crawl on into bed.

    Gotta case of assitude.
    Gotta case of blues.
    Just don’t care ‘bout nothin’
    Since I cared about you.

    As the dawn breaks,
I dread the notion of opening my eyes,
to a world full of white lies
    surrounded by mere droids,
    brainwashed by the masses,
    reminiscent of hemorrhoids,
    a pain in our asses!

You all know the song "Warpigs" by Black Sabbath... right?

heres my version of that song...

    Walleyes gathered in their masses
Schools of pike and smallmouth basses
    evil fish that plot destruction
source of all the minnow reduction

in the lake the walleyes churning
    up above the anglers yearning
    catching fish to feed mankind
walleyes on their one track mind

    GO FISH YEAH!!!

Shad and shiner hide themselves away
they fear walleyes thats for sure
why should they swim out into the light
they'll leave that role to the lure

    yeah...

time will tell on those fisheyed fiends
    chasing minnows just for fun
treating crayfish just like prawns in chests
wait 'till the fishing boats come

    yeah....

now in darkness reels stop turning
ashes from the shore lunch burning
no more walleye have the power
frying pan is caked in flour

day of judgment, man came calling
now under knives the walleye falling
    begging mercy but none today
while the carp just laughs and swims away

    GO FISH YEAH!!!!!

Kester, those words you wrote, is that for an existing song?

Because I could write the music for it if you like.

Whether you like it or not, I already did. The lyrics were too suggestive...

    I'll post it later

Link is not working for me...but I want to hear it! As soon as I read the words as well, I thought "that's just too good to pass up".

I'm very much anticipating what you've done, Rasko!

    Rasko,

That was honestly really well done. And to think that all of this transpired within a day is pretty, prettayyyy, pretty good.

Awesome job - and thanks for sharing! And also a great job to kester for the lyrics and inspiration behind it all! Kester, it's funny b/c I read the stuff this morning and thought "somone has to make that a song."

Do what you do best, as you like it...I'd love to hear the result.

OK, in the Good ol' USA that gets you a knock on the door in the middle of the night. Your friendly neighborhood FBI calling We're kinda anal about that stuff these days.
If you get to thinkin’ you’re a person of some influence, try orderin’ somebody else’s dog around..

Thanks guys for the (positive ) feedback. That really means a lot to me. Just because the words were so powerful, it only took me about 45 mins to write the music.

Kester, if you'd like to share more of that good stuff, by all means, do so!

Hey kester, why d'you delete that post? Good thing I already read it.

It's not a silly question, I didn't know several words to be honest (gourd, (l)assitude, platitudes; my English vocabulary isn't very extensive, I'd like to work on that), so I put the lyrics through Translator. He didn't know what to do with assitude, and neither did the Dictionary, so I'm glad you explained its meaning.

Gotta case of assitude.......I really had no idea what I was singing

Well, if I don't have a word I need, I just make one up...easier that way.

Well, I think this one's pretty dark.

    The Last Place You Look

The days that are truly trying,
The time of your greatest test,
Will come to you in your twilit years
When you’re tired and you want to rest.

    ---------------------------------------------------

    The old bull loses control of the herd;
    The captain’s no longer as good as his word;
An old brew goes flat and loses its head.
An old man takes longer to crawl out of bed.
The guitar just sits and loses its tune.
Old eyes never look for the man in the moon.

    -----------------------------------------------------

It’s as simple as finding the last place you look.
It’s as common as never finishing your book.
The times are the soil in which we grow.
If you never age, then you’ll never know.

Hard times spent walking rocky ground
make for hard and calloused soles,
make a hard and calloused soul.
