The Giants' title this year almost mirrors the Colts' last season. Both teams beat the three toughest teams they could possibly face, all on the road. Doesn't get any better than that.

Amazing, amazing, AMAZING game. I was almost as high as I was from the Colts winning last year. What a great game.

Eli looked like his older brother on that last drive.

There are a few bandwagon Pats fans at my school - can't wait to see them this week. Some of them were already thinking about next season before this game even happened.

Oh, and classic Belichek at the end.

What? The Colts played both the Chiefs and Pats at the Dome. Colts only had 1 true road playoff game, which was the Baltimore game. Super Bowl doesn't really count as a true road game in my book, as no one team really has the advantage.

Btw, massive congrats to the Giants. One of the few New York teams I can stomach.

Now don't screw it up and turn to the Dark Side like the evil Pats did.

Oops, yeah, I forgot the Pats game was at the Dome. Still, the Ravens and Bears games were on the road. I say "road" for the SB because it isn't at home; both teams are technically on the road.

I saw this a couple days ago.

    It was a major jinx.

I laughed my *** off even before the game.

    I already knew it.

No doubt. Biggest upset I can recall in any sport in a looooong time.
Ironically, the only thing even close in my book is the Pats taking down the Rams for their first SB.

But I'm with you Shade. There are few things in the world of sports that make me happier than watching the Patriots lose.

I love the fact that Belichick further cemented his legacy as the poorest loser in the history of sport when he wouldn't even stay on the sidelines for the final kneeldown.

Do I feel sorry for any Patriots? I do feel for Junior Seau. He's one of the only Patriots that I have nothing but respect for. If the Patriots had won, I'd have taken solace in the fact that one of the best LB's to ever play got a ring in the process. It is offset though by the fact that two of my favorite non-Colts, Strahan and Toomer did get one.

The Pats stared down immortality and blinked. Of course it didn't help them at all that they ran into a talented team with exactly the right pieces to beat them that peaked at precisely the right time. I knew it would take a perfect storm to beat them and the Giants whipped one up for them. One of the better Super Bowls in recent memory regardless of the outcome.

Wow, seeing the pats* lose like that is almost as good as a Colts win.

    Almost.

But still good enough for a .
    That'll do.

I was thinking the same thing. The only other comparable ones that come to mind are:

The Red Sox beating the Yankees after trailing 3 games to none, and the Pistons beating the Lakers in 4 straight after losing Game 1 in the Finals.

He sought out the opposing coach, shook hands and even gave him a hug, and left when the game was lost.

I mean, damn, gripe about something real

If I'm one of the Pats' defensive guys who has to go out on the field for the last play I damn well expect my coach to stay on the field.

Does anyone honestly think that if that had been the Colts about to lose a game Tony Dungy would have left the field early? The only NFL coach that I can think of that would be that big a sore loser would be Jon Gruden.

As for griping about something real maybe the Pats should have been watching the Giants warm up before the game. FOX showed a clip of Eli throwing to Plax on the exact same route that ended up winning the game.

That Pats have gone 3 seasons without winning a Championship now. Them winning titles is starting to become a distant memory.

Y'know, in hindsight, this is as sweet as it gets for Pats haters. All the hype, all the waiting, and it was all taken away at the last possible minute. Literally.

    Way to go ELI!!!!!!

Congrats to Archie BTW. After all the losing seasons he endured, to have your 2 sons be back to back Super bowl MVP's.

On a personal note, I usually hate every New York sporting team in every sport, except tonight.

I can't wait to read Bill Simmons next column. After reading his column

I know he was counting the Pats as SB champions.

Here's my running commentary on the post game press conferences:

Props to Randy Moss for actually talking to the media instead of using those one sentence answers that you get from Belichick.

It would make this season almost perfect if they'd get caught for that too. However, unless the tapes are leaked to the media I don't see the league admitting they cheated then too.

The supreme irony in this is that all the hype will now shift back indirectly to Peyton and Colts, due to his ties with Eli. It's almost like we won again.

Seriously - Belichek's move at the end of the game was just terrible. I don't understand how a coach could do that to his players.

It also took something away from the final celebration for the Giants...I wouldn't put it past him. It is Belichek, afterall.

But really, just a terrible move by him.

    Yes he truly is.

Plus, I'd like to add that the catch by Tyree from Manning is going to be historic. I said it when it happened. That was absolutely HUGE.

Oh yeah, and the Pats really had two great chances to intercept the ball on Eli's last drive. Choke!

Biggest chokers of all time, HA HA HA

Best team of all time my @ss, HA HA HA.

Only thing that matters is Super Bowls, HA HA HA.

Brady's new TD record, what good did it do him, HA HA HA

Brady's now choked in 3 straight playoffs, HA HA HA

The worst 18-1 team in history! HA HA HA The 18-1 Bears and 49ers were better, they won the Super Bowl.

(Just had to give back a little of what Pats fans have been dishing out for years)

The only thing that could possibly top this is when they take away their cheating Super Bowl win over the Rams.
