OR, take Harrison out of this deal and waive him at the season. Throw in Shawne Williams as a sweetner for Memphis. What do you think of either of these deals?

Memphis, which is a rebuilding team, is not going to trade younger players for older players with large contracts.

They're in the same boat as the Pacers. They're not looking to get older.

They are however looking to dump Gasol. They're stuck with him for four years, the fans can't stand him, and I think his trade value is only going to get lower.

That being said I wouldn't trade JO for him, because I wouldn't want to have 4 years of Gasol.
    Already stoked for 2013-2014.

What's wrong with Gasol? He kind of reminds me of a sort of Rik Smits-ish kind of player.

JO comes off the books after next season, and at the least, they could trade him as an expiring contract during the offseason. Shawne Williams is a nice young piece to include with local ties. Tinsley would be the only albatross in the deal.

JO's contract comes off after '09-'10.

Gasol is a talented 27 year old 7 footer. Memphis turned down multiple offers for him. People hate on him only because he's not in the echelon of KG, Dirk or Duncan. Doesn't mean he stinks. He's a damn good player. Just dont' expect him to carry your team all by himself.

Do they want to trade Gasol? Sure, they'll do it for the right deal but they're hardly willing to ship him out for the first thing they're offered. If they were, they would have traded him years ago. They've had a lot of offers for Gasol and they can afford to wait for the one they like.

As crazy at it seems, I think this trade may work. They get rid of their salary cap killer in Gasol and we do the same with JO. We get 2 underperforming big men and they get one tough big man when healthy and Harrison. We get a descent PG with JOB needed speed and they get to really see Conley and have Tin Man as the back-up. I would not want to put Swill in there though.
