    Default IND and NJ

with recent news of Kidd wanting out of New Jersey, would this be a deal they would look at:

    Indiana Trade Breakdown
Change in Team Outlook: -3.8 ppg, 0.0 rpg, and +2.5 apg.
    Incoming Players
    Vince Carter
6-6 SG / SF from North Carolina
    20.9 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 5.0 apg in 38.5 minutes
    Jason Kidd
    6-4 PG from California
    11.3 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 10.6 apg in 37.4 minutes

    Outgoing Players
    Jamaal Tinsley
    6-1 PG from Iowa State
    12.5 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 8.6 apg in 34.2 minutes
    Marquis Daniels
    6-5 SG from Auburn
    8.2 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 2.0 apg in 19.9 minutes
    Jermaine O'Neal
6-11 PF from Eau Claire (HS)
    15.3 ppg, 7.3 rpg, 2.5 apg in 31.3 minutes
    New Jersey Trade Breakdown
Change in Team Outlook: +3.8 ppg, 0.0 rpg, and -2.5 apg.

    why for Indiana
because we get 2 star players that would flourish in Obrien's offense. Kidd and Carter would get us back to the playoffs fast. with a lienup of
    Foster
    Granger
    Dunleavy
    Carter
    Kidd

    why for NJ
they still keep RJ and get JO as their premier big man. They also get Tinsley to rack up the assists and Daniels could very easily start for them.

given that the talk from JOB is small ball... why the heck not do it. An unhealthy JO would be the only thing hindering talk

If Kidd wants out of NJ, I doubt Indy tops the list of places he wants to go.

I think Indy would probably have to throw Granger and/or a first round pick to the trade for it to have any chance of happening..

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.. But that trade is in our dream land.. NJ would never do such a thing.. Trading 2 All-Stars (yes, they are old, but still, better then most.) for a potentially "washed up" All-Star in O'neal, and just throw ins like Tinsley and Daniels..

Plus, Kidd said he wants to go to a contender.. We are still a good 10 years away from being a championship contender again and that's if we play our cards right.

I came up with the following last night. I think it helps all teams involved and points us in the right direction with a rebuilding plan.

    Successful Trade Scenario
    Congratulations on a successful trade.
Due to Indiana, Portland, and New Jersey being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Indiana, Portland, and New Jersey had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

    New Jersey
They finally get a legit frontcourt and would become east contenders again. They get a nice young piece in Diogu.

    Kidd/Armstrong
    Rush/Wright
    Jefferson/Wright
    JO/Ike
    Foster/Boone

    Portland
They keep their main young pieces in Oden, Aldridge, and Roy. They get a veteran SF in Carter that can lead them offensively (which is what they need). This is a team that almost has too many young pieces and needs that veteran presence.

    Blake/Williams/Sergio
    Roy/JJ
    Carter/JJ
    Aldridge/Outlaw
    Oden/Priz

    Indiana
We got into complete rebuild mode. Nachbar and Magloire gives us 8 million in expirings this year and Raef give us 11 million the following. We get some nice young pieces in Webster, Jack, Frye, and Sean Williams. We would probably end up with a top 5 pick that could be used on Rose or Beasley to add to the following core group.

    Jack
    Duleavy/Webster
    Granger/Williams
    Frye/Williams
    Williams

If anybody, NJ will deal Kidd as he has stated that he wants out and to go to a contender. NJ is on a major loosing skid and they need some post presence.

I only could dream of a trade bringing Kidd to the Pacers involving Tinsley and anybody not named Granger, Rush, and JO. Who would you start with those four: Diogu, Foster, Harrison, Murphy, Shawne, other?

    1- Kidd
    2- Rush
    3- Granger
    4- Murphy or Foster?
    5- JO

I wouldn't mind seeing the PAcers blowing it all up ala Portland and trading whatever they can for draft picks... Foster, Daniels, Tinsley, etc. Keep JO for the future cap space and/or S&T.
