OMG I think i just threw up in my mouth!!...a little..

No way do we do this, Carter's contract is longer than JO's and Kidd wouldn't resign with us for anything cheap...not to mention the last thing we need to do is trade for an oft-injured shell of himself and old *** Jason "I beat my wife and child" Kidd. We need draft picks this year and expiring contracts that are worth a da/\/\N

I don't think Kidd is looking to be traded a team struggling to make the playoffs in the East.
"They could turn out to be only innocent mathematicians, I suppose," muttered Woevre's section officer, de Decker.

"'Only.'" Woevre was amused. "Someday you'll explain to me how that's possible. Seeing that, on the face of it, all mathematics leads, doesn't it, sooner or later, to some kind of human suffering."

If NJ trades Kidd, they'll probably be looking to rebuild. I could see Cleveland trying to initiate a multi-team deal to net Kidd.

Just scraping in on points with a horrible %. Nearly 4 turnovers per game. Good assists numbers. Good rebound numbers but do you really care about your PGs rebounding stats? Leading a team with Carter and Jefferson to a crap win %. I'd say that's ordinary.

    Tosser = w anker.

Edit: almost forgot to mention his rubbish defense.

I think Kidd's become overrated, and the Net's horrible underachieving just goes to prove it. If Kidd were as great as he's made out to be, the Net's wouldn't be nearly as bad as they are. Carter's still performing well and Jefferson's having a career year. People use the "he's averaging almost a triple double" line, but if you actually look into, it's not nearly as impressive as one would think. Like was mentioned, his offense is almost Tinsley-level bad. How a guy spends 14 years averaging 35 minutes a game and still can't shoot is beyond me. He's a great passer and the best rebounding guard in the league, but his offense brings his entire game down a couple notches.

The Nets are bad because they play no defense, just like your Indiana Pacers. That's right; the Nets are a more-talented (but worse-coached) version of the Pacers.

NJ also no longer specializes in the up-tempo offense that won them a lot of games in the past. The league is faster now and there a lot of teams that do what they used to do, but better (Phoenix, Golden State, Washington, etc.).

Which brings to mind another Rick-like situation. Remember how Kidd ran Byron Scott out (allegedly) and then everyone lapped up the kool-aid on Larry Frank? Now look at the standings and the rosters for NO vs NJ. To me it's clear that Scott is the better coach and that NJ made a mistake dumping him. But boy did people think Lawrence was brilliant with that initial winning streak.

I can't think of a single player in the league that would have interest in playing for the Pacers. They have players already on the roster itching and clawing to get out of here.

While I'd enjoy seeing what would happen with Kidd and Carter on the squad, I just severely doubt anything like the deal listed above happens. Anything can happen I suppose, though, especially with the state the Pacers are in now. Who knows, I just doubt it.

Some may want it, but I think it not probably happening or having a chance will be better for us in the long run.

Believe me, I'd love to have a consistent shooter on the team AKA Vince Carter, but the thoughts of him being broken down and stuff like that just turn me off. If Kidd was 29-31 years of age like Carter, I'd be more apt to try to make something happen.

But in reality Kidd is in the waning years of his career, and it seems Carter will be there soon, if not already there.

But with the state we're in right now, I don't think I'd be too upset if I saw tomorrow that we traded JO/Tinsley and got back Kidd/Carter.

That's just how bad things are.

But there is one thing that is certain, and I think we can all agree on this. Something needs to happen. We have to make a trade around or before the deadline. You're dead last in attendance, the play has been terrible and you are very short on talent. If you can make a trade that upgrades your talent, at this point, I think you have to.

Upgrade in talent could mean a good player, which in hand hopefully tells fans that we're trying to do something. We get some wins, hopefully, with the new guys, the team gets a desperately needed spark of energy and the majority or at least more of the fan base slowly starts to at least pay attention to this team again.

I'd love to have Jason Kidd on this team but he will not want to play here. Period.

I think that the Cavs, Lakers, Mavs will be the possible destination for Kidd.

Gosh, I don't know what (if any) leverage NJ has at this point, given his verified request to leave town.

Maybe it's too obvious, but what about a JO for Kidd straight up trade? I think it'd actually do wonders for the team. Likely the best offer that Nets could get at this point, and would kill a couple of birds with one stone. They need to develop Marcus Williams anyways, so doubt they care about looking for a replacement.

What do we do with Tinsley? Let him ride the pine as Kidd's backup.

I'd be open to a 3-team trade with J.O. going to New Jersey, Kidd going to a 3rd team, and us getting some combination of youth/picks/expirings.

I know there's a trade board, but since this is about a player asking for a trade, and with trading J.O. constantly being talked about, I figured I'd post it here.

Here's something I would do, I think the Magic would do, and the Nets might do....

Nets Out: Jason Kidd, 2008 1st
    Nets In: Jermaine O'Neal, Ike Diogu, 2008 Magic 1st, 2010 Magic 1st

Magic Out: Keyon Dooling (exp), Pat Garrity (exp), Tony Battie (exp), Carlos Arroyo (exp), 2008 1st, 2010 1st
    Magic In: Jason Kidd

Pacers Out: Jermaine O'Neal, Ike Diogu
Pacers In: Keyon Dooling (exp), Pat Garrity (exp), Tony Battie (exp), Carlos Arroyo (exp), 2008 Nets 1st

That would completely remove J.O.'s contract at seasons end while at the same time giving us another pick in the 10-15 range.

The Nets replace unhappy Kidd with J.O., who's 5 years younger, and while they lose their own 1st, pick up the Magics this year and the Magics 2010.

The Nets lose a bunch of expiring, but they pick up a PG that would raise their team to true contendership for this season and at least 3 or 4 more.

This is just a rough draft I came up with in no more than 5 minutes. You could replace Diogu with Tinsley, which could be another reputation/salary shed, and with Arroyo coming on board, he could be an adequate starter for us.

That is the best we could get for JO and Tins so why not? We'd be an instant contender. DG and VC would play much better together then RJ and VC. We'd shed our poison and injured multi-millionaire. The only thing is: I read the Nets what a young prospect, draft pick and an expiring contract, so I doubt we could fill that. Supposedly they turned down a deal for Iverson, I highly doubt they want JO.
