Marvin says that he was very slow to heal, and that the decision for him to come out of the game was made by the coaches. Says he will be fine next year.

    I hope so.

I hope he's right, we could really use his help. But I won't hold my breath.

He should be good to go for training camp... but if not then he'll be ready for the preseason... at least the final game of preseason... and if not that then he'll be ready for the opener.... or else he'll be ready for the first 'big' game the Colts have... or else he might miss some early games (big and small) as a precaution but would be able to go "if it was the playoffs"... or even if he is out for the season he should be ready for the playoffs.... or maybe he'll suit up for the playoffs and we'll use him if needed...

I'm not really ever counting on 88 being a huge contributor for the Colts again. If he does come back I don't think he'll ever be the same, with all of this said he's had an incredible, incredible career for us and I'll never forget his contribution. He's one of the best WR's of all time.

Hopefully I'm wrong about the first part.
    Already stoked for 2013-2014.

Ya, he SAYS he will be fine. But that pain may never go away, and he could still easily just be like Tarik Glenn and decide he needs to retire right before the season.

Not trying to be Mr. Negative, but that's just how I think it may happen. The doctors said the pain will most likely never go away. And seeing him struggle so much in the playoff game just worried me that that's all he is going to be able to do now, because of all the pain.

Does anyone know of any other players who've had a "burst bursa sac?"

Here's a little hint from several years back:

In other words, the national title hopes of the second-ranked Huskers involve not only a Washington State victory over top-ranked Michigan in the Rose Bowl, but also a Nebraska victory against the nation's top quarterback. Manning's right knee has swollen to the size of a grapefruit. He has been slow to recover from a ruptured bursa sac, which reduces friction in a joint, sustained in Tennessee's 30-29 victory over Auburn in the Southeastern Conference championship on Dec. 6.

Manning said today that he expected to play and Coach Phillip Fulmer agreed, but added, ''We are not going to put Peyton at risk.''
