If Chris Wilcox can really be had, as they say in Entourage, that would be something I'd be interested in.
Wilcox can be had, but it's not like the Sonics are just going to give him away to the first person who asks.
Once again, put yourself in their shoes. They're a rebuilding team. Wilcox is actually still pretty young and has a reasonable contract. It's not as if the absolutely HAVE to trade him. It's not as if having Wilcox on their team is creating this huge problem for them.
He's a better player than Ike and they don't need Shawne Williams. What they're probably waiting for is somebody to offer up their 1st round pick, which the Pacers obviously don't want to give up. I don't see Wilcox to the Pacers as much of a possibility.
I don't particularly like that move. I like Kareem and he is getting more and more confortable in his role. The kid deserves the chance to prove himself with one team the entire year. Replace Kareem with Hulk and that would be ok.
Isn't this really just like the Pacers trading with themselves? Why do they move Redd for JO?
They are trying to do exactly what the Pacers now want to do, keep youth and picks and trade out of salary. The match for both Indy and the Bucks are teams looking to add one final piece to win now, not later.
If anything this hurts the Pacers because some of the Bucks players will probably be more attractive in the trade market. You're Toronto or Cleveland trying to get over the hump, do you want JO or Redd? And if the price for Granger is too high then just ask for Villanueva instead.
