For those who think the Pacers are better without JO- Watch this game and be vindicated! The proof is in the pudding. This team right now is better without JO. We will win tonight. Worst, lose a very close game.
They are vastly outclassed talent wise, but they are competing. We will not win this game though.

BTW, JO playing doesn't help that much nor does it hurt that much. We lose much more by Tinsley not playing...and I can't stand Tinsley.

I actually like JO, but facts are facts. While he brings shotblocking and the ability to take a charge, I can get a scrub like Blount to do that. On the offensive end, he is generally a net negative because he more often than not plays inefficiently and does help ball and player movement. Some say he hurts it which is a dagger in the heart of this offense.

The worst part is, only 3 players in the league are paid more, but he is about #75 in the league in terms of value based on RealGM. That makes him terribly overpaid. But he's not overrated anymore except right here on PD.

Edit: Up nine against Phoenix on the road without our superstar. How can that possibly happen? lol

Tinsley needs to talk with Curly. He would fit great on the Globe Trotters.

It's been a while since I've seen a Pacers team rooting so hard for each other. Good to see.

Anyone know how tall Shawne Williams really is? In a game a few weeks ago Clark said he was a 7 footer.

Regardless IMO he needs to learn to play PF/C on Defense, even if he stays mainly on the perimeter offensively.

Not to stir things up, but the energy level seems a lot higher tonight with a certain player inactive (And I don't mean Stephen Graham)

I agree on most parts, and respectfully disagree that JO is pretty much a wash being on the court or not. Aside from the record, our coach pretty much runs an anti-O'Neal system. JO restricts and suffocates the flow of the game when he is on the court more often than not. If he was used primarily as a role player then maybe it wouldn't matter that much, but obviously he is still our "franchise player" I guess that's why our coach is obligated to utilize him and squeeze him in the system. NBA games are won in spurts and those instances that we get clobbered in a span of 2-3 minutes are enough to get your team emotionally and mentally out of the game. It goes back to last season's dilemma when we were trying to have a running team then JO complains to RC and we revert to pounding the ball. JO is still a solid player, but we are really better off right now without him. I mean, how many games are we really gonna win with him anyway? Sometimes stats don't lie. Worst case is we lose a similar amount of games and get us some cap space for the future if we somehow trade JO for an expiring contract or some picks.

man tinsley is the head cheerleader on that sideline. I see him up clapping and cheering every time we take a shot. I'll take that from him...i think he's this teams leader. JO needs to take a backseat to tinsley...it looks like this team is better without JO.

Nice job by the Suns to get it to 6. We always seem to give up a mini-run right before the half (Phoenix should win)

Why was Shawne Williams out of the rotation the last month or so? I don't want to hear the "D" excuse because we aren't exactly the '85 Bears. The way our record is going and the realistic expectations for the ceiling of this team mean that Shawne Williams should be getting at least 20 minutes every night. (Ike should also be getting PT)
