I picked 33 and see no reason to change that. If you'd asked me two weeks ago I might've said that the Pacers' 3-pt shooting has been better than I expected and they also figured out how to move the ball and get into some offensive flow better than I expected.

However after the last few games - I'll stick with 33.

I picked 45 and see no reason to change that.
"They could turn out to be only innocent mathematicians, I suppose," muttered Woevre's section officer, de Decker.

"'Only.'" Woevre was amused. "Someday you'll explain to me how that's possible. Seeing that, on the face of it, all mathematics leads, doesn't it, sooner or later, to some kind of human suffering."

I'm not on the list, since I wasn't a member at the time. (I do hope you haven't got me on ignore, Putnam).

On another site, with cornrows in it's name, I did predict a 46-36 record, even though I did say I was going out on a limb. I thought that would only get us a 6th spot in the East.

Basically I just looked at who we're better than, who I thought we're worse than, and roughly equal to, and did a simple calc to come up with the 46-36. By my figuring, we're 4 games off that pace. As in should have won 8 of the games we lost, and had no business winning 4 of the games that we did.

The whole prediction was prefaced with "if JO and JT stay reasonably healthy." We are seeing what happens when JT does not.

But the East is still wide open all the way up to Toronto in the 4th position currently. 42 wins still gets us that 6th playoff seed.

    Who knows? We may surprise..uh..us...yet.

I'll stick with what I predicted. I knew it was going to be a wild ride.

i don't think i posted my prediction just b/c i was partly ashamed of it. part of me always wants the pacers to win but the other part is more realistic. i've found myself rooting for the team to lose just so we could rebuild and get a good draft pick. yes it's greedy on many levels but it's what i want.

Generally nothing has surprised me that much. I did expect a little bit more this year from Granger and Ike. I also expected better play from JO.

But, the one thing I failed to factor in when I made my prediction of 40-44 wins was that a new system can make an accurate prediction nearly impossible.

In hindsight, I expect this team to finish with around 36 wins.

All I can say in my defense is that I've been a hardcore Cubs fan for nearly 50 years. That proves I'm nucking futs.

Why is my prediction listed as too optimistic?

I'm with UB. I stand with my prediction.

I'm not wrong. I'm close now, and plan on ending the year right on target.
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

I gotta stick with what I said earlier, low to mid 40's in the W column. We are the perfect example of a young team: streaky as hell, cannot close out games, and lack of toughness in back to back games. I say ride it out to the deadline and see if any team sprouts up for our JO demands?

And bump. That didn't take long, did it?

Sacto with no Ron, no Bibby, that should/could be a win.

Golden St return for Dun/Troy/Ike...uh oh. There is Pacers running and then there is GS running and it's not the same.

    Current pace - 35 wins
    Pace of last 20 games (8-12) - 33 wins
