    Successful Trade Scenario
    Congratulations on a successful trade.
Due to Indiana and New Jersey being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Indiana and New Jersey had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

This is a great deal, dare I say perfect for both teams. Needless to say for NJ, they'd have a legit shot at competing with the top teams in the East by not just having a big three, but a big four and they'd finally have their dominant big man.

For us, it's a no brainer. The impetus for us doing this would no doubt be Sean Williams, who's putting up great numbers in NJ and could make an immediate impact here. We'd also be getting a decent big man in Krstic, who even though he's not having a great season, could be very good-great when he's healthy and focused. Wright is a solid perimeter player who's started over Carter in NJ a few times this season. Nachbar would fit in this system by virtue of his 3-pt shooting. Collins is all right, and Magloire sucks but of course salaries have to match so they're included.

Oh and on top of this, we'd be getting what it's really all about: the PICKS. Let's make this team a definite contender in the future rather than just sit around and be complacent with the mediocrity that we're inevitably destined for as it stands right now.

Great deal, but we'd be 2 guys over the max. What 2 players would we ditch?

i don't quite see it from NJN's angle

    kidd / m. williams / armstrong
    carter
    jefferson / graham
    allen / boone
    o'neal / harrison

that is a REALLY thin team if you're taking collins, krstic, magloire and s. williams from the frontcourt (not to mention wright and nochbar from the wings).

JO is an injury concern and you add that to injury-prone carter, somewhat jefferson and kidd. you have to figure out a way to make that deal with less players out of NJ - which probably means a 3-way (maybe getting phoenix involved so they get a defensive-minded C in collins?)
    This is the darkest timeline.

We already have a S. Williams. Allen Ray was dropped because of Ray Allen being pickeup
