What the hell is going on?! I almost feel bad for Sims. Is Foster's injury that serious?

This makes me nervous about Jeff. I really hope he's not going to miss any more games.

I don't feel all too bad for Courtney Simms. He probably still gets a nice chunk of change when he gets signed for the short term to replace injuries. What's the pressure of being "eye candy" on the end of the bench?

Honestly? Gill would be an upgrade at backup PG.
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

I think Gill would be helpful if Tinsley went down.

He's not my first choice, but he's better than Diener and Owens.

(Quis isn't reliable health-wise, although he's a better option than Diener and Owens.)

Is this a joke? I mean, I loved Eddie as a person when he was here, great guy. As a point guard though, do you honestly think he's better then Diener and Owens, because I would rather have Siggy back then Eddie Gill again.

Given the pressing need to figure out a way to reduce the minutes of Tinsley....I am guessing that this is the reason why we resigned Sims:

I am guessing that Harrison and Foster is going to be out for a period of time....on and off....which does make me concerned as well.

Worse then this is that maybe TPTB think that we don't need a backup PG and that an on-and-off Marquis will do .

No... not really. Even Diener is better than Eddie Gill.

Larry is not coming back, he didn't have a meeting with Orlando for not reason, yeah he is coming back to the NBA but not to the Pacers, the notion that he is a taking a year off and then come back is absurd.

I can tell you never saw Eddie start for NJ when Kidd was out. He's three kinds of terrible.

He managed to register 4 points and 6 fouls in 24 minutes as a starter. I actually saw some of that game and another game in which he really stunk.

    Listen, Eddie...we need to talk.

You're a great guy. I really like you. And we've had a really good time together.

But I just think that right now, it would be better if we were just friends. I think we're just looking for different things.

    Really, it's not you...it's me.

    "Resign" means you quit.

If you sign somebody again you "re-sign" them.

    Get it right!

Personally, I'm already resigned to the fact that now that we've re-signed Sims, he's going to resign.

    Naw, he'll just get fired.

I mean, "transition to a new role that allows him to spend more time with his family."

    He looked pretty bad tonight.

right now? yes, because our roster is at the 15 limit

we can always cut someone else though (graham or owens) to bring in a new pg. i wonder about owens especially - if he's not good enough to back up tins who's going 40 min per night, shouldn't we replace him with someone who is?

same goes for diener too but cutting his 3 year guaranteed contract is harder to swallow. i'm not sure but owens only has a partial guarantee, i think.

    we'd cut graham before diener.

    comes down to money.

Diener might prove us wrong as Rush did one of these days and Bird will strut around like Mick Jagger saying "Told ya so".
