Default Steelers defensive back guarentees win against Pats

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3142456

He's either really ballsy or really stupid...but then again who says those terms have to be mutually exclusive.

Like everyone who doesn't live in the New England area he is probably just tired of hearing the media worship the frigging Patriots week after week, and this is just a kneejerk reaction against the Pats.

There are in reality few players on the Pats that bother me. I especially like Roosevelt Colvin and Matt Light. Brady is somewhat annoying but he's no worse than Tony Romo.

It's the constant adoration of the Patriots that is perpetuated by the media week after week that antagonizes people, IMHO.

Wow, I got really off topic!

Or maybe not. Patriots safety Rodney Harrison, asked by Fox Sports Radio about the comments, answered, "Who was it?"

Told it was Smith, Harrison said, "Never heard of him."
I lol'd. I thought it would be Polamalu or Farrior..or somebody who I've heard of from the Steelers defense..but this guy? He's pretty stupid for giving any extra motivation to an undefeated team.

I had never heard of him either. He was a draft pick in the 2006 draft. Seems like a silly young guy's mistake.

The Pats are good enough without needing any extra motivation. And I am a stringent Colts fan so that is not a homeresque comment.

I don't actually expect it to have any impact on the Pats intensity or effort, but you never really know. You don't want to give extra motivation to any team. Just look at the Cowboys this week going up against the Lions. Because of what Kitna said last year about the Cowboys defense when they got blown out in the finale, he has a giant X on him. Cowboys defense is going to be out to embarass, and possibly hurt Kitna.

If anyone wants the full story about Kitna and the Cowboys defense.

I'd say the Steelers would have had a chance but the Pats are now super-motivated. Two close games, experts saying that they are coming down to earth, this now...Pats by two tds+

He also said he'd "been a winner all my life", but he went to Syracuse 2002-2005 (4-8,6-6,6-6,1-10).

I swear Pittsburgh drafts the dumbest players in the league. Check that, after Jacksonville. Baltimore has it's share as well.

Go Patriots. I never thought I would say that. But I really can't stand the Pittsburgh Steelers.

I found that priceless as well.

    He's won titles everywhere, well...

except of course high school, college, and the pros!

I can't really stand Pittsburgh. I dislike them more than the Pats overall.

Yes you could say that Pats "cheated" in the 2003 regular season game but Kordell Stewart stepping out of bounds in the 1995 AFC Championship was much more blatant and much more costly.

I probably dislike Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Jacksonville, and Tennessee more than I dislike the Pats, actually. Is it bad that I just don't buy in to the rivalry?

I will always hate the Pittsburgh Steelers. With New England, the only dislike is because of the intensity of the current rivalry. Actually I don't know if I even "dislike" them. I think the rivalry is great for fans and for football. I have nothing against the New England Patriots. But I will never be able to stand the Pittsburgh Steelers. I cannot stand that organization/fanbase.

One of my co-workers was telling me about some of the bets he had placed today, and he picked the Steelers over the Pats. I told him NE would probably win by 20+, because Pittsburgh is simply not that good. This result didn't surprise me in the least.

It's gonna be up to us to end the Pats' perfection. I think we have a shot, so long as we don't face Jacksonville in the second round.

It was funny because the Steelers safeties were getting absolutely murdered all game.

When I heard this guy all I could think was: [I]Insert your foot into your mouth.

I bet his teammates were just looking at him and thinking, "shut up already"

Bottom line is they exploited him over and over.

Well, Mr. Smith hasn't learned his lesson. Now's he's guaranteeing that they'll see the Pats in the playoffs....
Don't ask Marvin Harrison what he did during the bye week. "Batman never told where the Bat Cave is," he explained.
