Default Putting it on the line...

Well, after the end of the preseason I made a bet with my boss. I bet the pacers would win at least 45 games and make the playoffs this year...

If I lose I have to spend the a whole day cleaning his house...

If I win he has to drive me and my friends around Broadripple some saturday night while we drink at bars and verbally abuse him...

Totally worth the risk... and after two games I am starting to feel pretty good about it.

Ooooh. 45 is still a bit tricky.

If we start 7-3 you might have a shot at it. We've got to win some games before our news system is scouted and solved.

So, have you scheduled that day to get that cleaning done yet?

Found this while searching for the preseason prediction thread.

I was drinking the Kool-Aid hard before the season and bet $20 with a coworker on 50 wins. I had to pay up a while back, but I know once the preseason rolls around next year I will have that same "homer mentality."

Have fun cleaning. I think that bet was totally worth it.

I should have bet someone over the assumption in the press we wouldn't win (more than?) 31 games.

If you can't be a homer what's the point in being a fan right?

Damn it, who found this?? haha...

With a healthy JT and JO (i guess thats a pipe dream) I still think we could have one 45 games, but I think my boss forgot about the bet, so I am in the clear. I Stopped bringing it up a while ago (when things started to look down).

Not sure if I really would have held him to his end if I won, but boy it would have been tempting...

I think I know where you work. So you have a choice, either you admit to your boss that you lost the bet, or I will tell him

You didn't put an injury clause in your agreement?

UB hates people who don't pay up.
"They could turn out to be only innocent mathematicians, I suppose," muttered Woevre's section officer, de Decker.

"'Only.'" Woevre was amused. "Someday you'll explain to me how that's possible. Seeing that, on the face of it, all mathematics leads, doesn't it, sooner or later, to some kind of human suffering."

I thought about it... I probably should have.

Dude is a real gambler, so Im thinking he did not forget but he is just pretending he did to be nice... However he would not admit that. I am smart enough to know never to bring it up around him or I am screwed.

As far as paying up goes, if he don't remember than he don't get paid, you can't expect the loser to remind the winner he won.
