Default So, will Brady break the TD record?

It's getting interesting now. 41 TDs with 4 games to play. He needs 2 per game to tie the record. Of course, he'll probably hang 6 on the Dolphins.

Oh he'll break it. They'll run up the score on the Jets and Dolphins at the very least. He'll probably either have the record by the end of the Dolphins game or he'll be very close.

He'll get it before the season's over. He'll get it even if it means going to the air against the Giants in the 4th if they're up 50+ points.

I guess we'll see 2 touchdowns a game for a player of brady's caliber and considering they still have 2 afc east games left to play I'd say there's probaby an 80% chance he'll break it. In the by the way department early forecast for the Pittsburg vs. New England game is freezing rain and gusty conditions.

Something i've been thinking about with seeing how bad little outside factors like the weather have effected them, makes me wonder if they're going to end up shooting themselves in the foot by getting HFA throughout the playoffs.

4 TDs today. He'll probably break it against the Dolphins.

Jets next week - I put the TD over/under at 4 that game unless the weather's REALLY bad.

Of course with Manning he played only half of game 15 and one series in game 16. If Brady goes with that ...

Yeah, Brady is actually one behind Peyton's pace right now. After next week, NE will have home field locked up, so we'll see just how much Belichick wants to set records and run up the score.

Umm. It's Belichick, you know that he's gonna run up the score. Thats what he does.

    For the record:

Only 3 of 45 of Brady's TD passes have been with 4th quarter leads over 14 points.

If Moss hadn't dropped the TD catch in the 4th, it would have been the 1st time all year Brady threw a TD pass in the last 8 minutes of any game that they led by over 14.

He has 3 TD passes in the 1st 7 minutes of the 4th quarter of games that they led by over 14, twice finishing drives started in the 3rd and once coming in when the 3rd string QB wasn't warmed up and Cassell threw an INT returned for a TD, so he was yanked and Brady put in (Miami game).

Yeah - of course personally I think the Pats - and Colts - should keep playing the starters, even in game 16 for at least a half, as long as they're healthy.

They're already getting a week off. IMO the number one reason the Colts lost to Pittsburgh a couple of years ago was rust. They were primarily a passing team and the timing the first half was terrible. It wasn't until about halfway through the 3rd quarter that the offense started to click.

Now if a player has an injury, even a minor, nagging injury, rest him. But if a player's healthy he should play, just like if the game mattered. I know there could be a freak injury but two weeks off is too much.

If you don't get a week off and game 16 is meaningless, that's another story - rest 'em. That won't be the case for the Pats, Colts, Cowboys or Packers this year.

I highly, highly doubt Belichick is resting starters. The most rest Tom is getting is 4th quarter of the Giants game (that is if they are ahead significantly). I have this funny feeling the Giants are going to upset the Patriots perfect season.

Anyway, back to original question. Tom is going to have the record tied next week. But man I hope I'm wrong.

Probably, but don't care. Didn't really care all that much when Peyton did either. Scoring records in today's NFL don't mean much.

Weather.com has the early predictions for weather conditions for this Sundayin Foxboro, and they are looking pretty awful:

70% chance of snow, windy, mid 20s.

It's not so easy to even walk around in a full-blown winter Noreaster, and running the normal Patriots offense could be an issue.

No TDs for Brady today. Now it really gets interesting.

It's pretty obvious that personal passing and receiving records are not all that important when you chose to run the ball 35 times, including 1st and goal on the 3.

Overall, you want these games to establish something for the meaningful games to come. This was good experience, since a ball-control/run-first strategy might be necessary in January.

And he's on pace to do just that. 3 TDs in the first half against the JV Fins.

How about passing (to your receiver who's also on the verge of breaking receiving records) on the 1 yard line?

The "we don't care about setting personal records" Patriots are still playing their starters with a 21-point lead in the 4th quarter against the worst team in the NFL.

    Just sayin'...
