Thread: JO for Arenas +whatever

  1. #1

    Default JO for Arenas +whatever

This might make sense, Arenas is hurt and out till Feb. Plus he is not happy in Washington and is going to opt out most likely right? JO would give them a real PF, and the Pacers would let Arenas walk (or try to sign him, God, I would love to have a prolific scoring SG on the team) The Pacers would instantly be out of cap probs and be able to sign all the young talent we have and will have.

anyway, I just pulled this one out of my butt. I didn't do any fancy Real GM legwork or anything. It just seemed like an interesting trade idea.

    I'd do it. Washington won't.

Not even if Arenas says he is opting out and doesn't want to return to Washington?

Has Arenas said he actually doesn't want to return to DC? I have heard just that he is opting out.

before MTO goes ape **** over this thread...

gilbert has always said he wants to re-sign in washington - opting out is strictly a business decision. now thats totally just lip service (both about opting out and then re-signing) until it actually happens. but the guy is beloved by the fans here so i don't see why either side would want him not in a wizards jersey any time soon.
    This is the darkest timeline.

Right, I'm just saying if things go bad this year, Gilbert might think that.. anyway, its a long shot, and that's the only way something like that trade would happen.

Forget that. Just draft Eric Gordon and trade JO for someone else.

I like this idea as well and posted a JO for Arenas on CBS Sportsline. JO and Dunleavy or Tinsley for Arenas and Jamison at the all star break timeframe if we are around .500?

Arenas is the true heir apparent for Reggie, a scorer with no conscious and Jamison is a nice one year stop gap at PF to let Ike and Shawn transition to see who is the one to start.

A line-up of Tinsley/Diener/Owens, Arenas/Daniels/Rush, Granger/Shawn, Ike/Shawn/Jamison and Murph/Foster/Hulk is an interesting and young team stacked with Talent.

I like Dunleavy a lot and the way he has played has impressed me, but you gotta give up something to get something and Granger/Swill/Ike is not in any trade plans.

You must be joking? There's a better chance of Reggie coming out of retirement and winning us a championship. Maybe after that we could deal Murph for Nowitzki...I mean, he outplayed him and everything the other night. Maybe Dallas is ready to part ways.

I know it is a long shot, but it is not all that far fetched. Arenas is hurt longer term and is opting out of his contract, we can say the same about JO, but he is losing 22 mil if he does. Jamison will be gone next year so why not find his replacement now for them in JO?

No, not joking. Arenas is hurt longer term and both could be gone next season from the whiz when Arenas opts out and Jamison is a free agent. Why not get a very nice upgrade in JO and go from there. Honestly I wouldn't really want Nowitzki all that much. Just another soft big man that folds under pressure. Remember Golden State?????
