Default Sean Taylor Shot - In Critical Cond.

PALMETTO BAY, Fla. - Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor was shot at his home early this morning and was in critical condition. Police are investigating whether a possible robbery led to the incident.

Officers were sent to Taylor's home at about 1:45 a.m. after his girlfriend called 911 and said he was shot in his lower body, Lt. Nancy Perez said. He was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital, she said, but did not disclose how many times he was shot.

Investigators were still interviewing the girlfriend and other relatives who were in the home to try to determine what happened, Perez said.
    Seems to be pretty serious.

According to reports he's lost so much blood he might have brain damage. Lets hope these preliminary reports are wrong. He was nearly hit in the femartal or something like that artery. If he WOULD HAVE been shiot there he would be dead already.

    Keeo him in your prayers.

ESPN says he was shot in the leg, but I also read he was shot twice. Was he shot twice in the leg?

ESPN is now saying he was shot in the femoral artery.

Taylor lost a "significant" amount of blood because the bullet damaged his femoral artery, Sharpstein said.

Anyone else think it may have something to do with this? Maybe those punks came and paid him a visit.

Armed Assault: "On June 3, 2005, Taylor was named publicly as a "person of interest" by Miami-Dade County police in regard to a Miami assault case involving firearms, and was being sought for questioning. "We need to speak to him, we don't know if he's a victim, witness or suspect," Miami-Dade police spokesman Mary Walters said. Taylor allegedly was present at, and possibly involved in, an incident on June 1, 2005 in Miami, in which bullets allegedly were fired into a stolen vehicle. [citation needed]
On June 5, 2005, ESPN and The Miami Herald both reported that Taylor, accompanied by his lawyer, surrendered to Miami-Dade police at approximately 10pm ET on June 4 at Miami's Cutler Ridge district police station, where he was transported to Miami's Turner Guilford Knight correctional facility. He was charged with aggravated assault with a firearm, a felony, and misdemeanor battery.[citation needed]
On June 5, Miami-Dade police issued a statement indicating that Taylor had been arrested for aggravated assault with a firearm (a felony) and battery (a misdemeanor), for allegedly pointing a gun at a person over a dispute over two ATVs that Taylor claimed were stolen.[citation needed] Taylor then allegedly left the scene, but returned shortly and punched one person.[citation needed]
The Associated Press reported on June 5 that Taylor was held in detention at Miami's Turner Gilford Knight correctional facility and released the evening of June 4 after posting bond of $16,500. The Miami-Dade County Clerk's Office announced that Taylor would soon be officially arraigned on the charges.[citation needed]
The Washington Post reported on March 3, 2006 that Taylor's trial has been postponed until April 10, 2006. Days before that date, the trial was moved back once more, this time by a week, because of conflicts with Passover and Easter celebrations.[citation needed]
CNN reported on November 26, 2007 that Taylor was shot in the leg at his home in Miami, Florida."

    Wow. That sucks.

Although I hate to quote horrible ebonic phrases, it was probably some haters.

It damaged the artery because the bullet was so close. As far as i know it did not strike the artery.

If anyone has seen Black Hawk Down that deals with some one being shot in the femoral artery. If he was indeed shot there he is lucky to be alive. He will be in my prayers.

Sportscenter just said that he is unconcious and not responsive. His father apparently said "He lost a significant amount of blood because a bullet severed an artery."
They said he may lose his life.
    Time to pray.

Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor has fallen into a coma following surgery for a life-threatening gunshot wound suffered early Monday morning at his South Miami home, FOXSports.com has learned.

Redskins officials are en route to South Florida to visit Taylor.

One source said there is a concern Taylor suffered brain damage from the loss of blood and may not survive.

"It doesn't look good," the source said. "But he's young, strong and extra healthy. That's what he's got going for him."

I'm no doctor but I'd say he has a good chance of recovering if what we're hearing is true.

Just reported on ESPN that Sean Taylor has died.

Thoughts and prayers are with his family, the guy was way too young for this kind of ****.

RIP Sean. The NFL just lost one of, if not the best, Free Safety playing. He leaves behind hid fiancee and his 18 month old baby.
