Default Kansas City at Indianapolis – Game thread – 11/18/07

(4-5) Dwayne Bowe’s 105 receiving yards wasn’t enough last weekend as Kansas City fell to Denver 27-11 in Arrowhead Stadium. Kansas City looks to get back into AFC West contention with a win.

(7-2) Trying to snap an un-characteristic two-game losing streak, the Colts are back home again in Indianapolis matching up against Kansas City and their new starting quarterback, Brodie Croyle.

I've heard that Harrison and Gonzales are both going to be active for the Colts.

NFL Network..but it turns out Harrison is inactive again.

Gonzales is active. Ugoh is still out.

Colts declared WR Marvin Harrison, TE Bryan Fletcher, CB Dante Hughes, CB Tim Jennings DB Matt Giordano, LB Tyjuan Hagler, T Tony Ugoh and T Daniel Federkeil inactive for Week 11 against the Chiefs.
The Colts may have more injured players than inactive spots, because Anthony Gonzalez is apparently active despite reports that he'd be out for several more weeks. There's speculation that Harrison won't return until at least Week 13. Aaron Moorehead and Craphonso Thorpe will continue to see increased action, with Gonzalez's potential role being very uncertain.

I can't believe they had Vinatieri attempt a 49-yarder. Heck, last week proved that 29 yards was too much for him....

    And of course, he misses.

Peyton has almost no protection. Get well soon, Tony! (And Marvin, Freddy, etc)

We need a new kicker. Very simple.

Vinatieri misses AGAIN. Do we have a backup kicker? Put him in. Vinatieri can't get it done.

Oh, and the O-line is still terrible. For the first time in a long time, the Colts' defense is better than the offense.

Seriously - what is up with Adam?

Cut the ties now. This is beyond ridiculous.

We need to involve Craphonso Thorpe in the offense more.

Then why is he playing? If he's hurt, fine. Just don't play him. If he's worthless to the point that he misses a gimme field goal like last week's, he's hurting the team by playing.

Put the backup kicker in. Vinatieri certainly isn't going to help the team win today.

What is Gus Johnson talking about?

"He's like Beowulf. You know, the king who fought dragons, with nothing but his arms, and hands, and forearms...look at Brodie Croyle's forearms! they're huge forearms!"

    At least it's not Madden...

I was wondering the same thing. And the "oh, we talked to Croyle the other day and asked him if he likes to throw the ball down the field. He just nodded his head. He likes to throw the ball downfield!!!!" gem was good too.

Get well soon, Tony Ugoh. Please. Charlie Johnson is a matador.

    Love, Peyton Manning.

Brodie Croyle was sacked and he fumbled!!

How could anyone muscle a football out of the buff muscles of Beowulf's incredible wrists???

I know a lot of our problems are stemming from the line, but does anyone else think our offense is too complex for some our new pieces to understand? When Marvin, Reggie and Peyton are running it perfectly it looks beautiful, when Aaron Moorehead, Ben Utecht and Crap Thorpe are running the wrong routes it looks atrocious.

Should we try and make it more simple for our temporary players?

Thank God. Vinatieri can at least hit a 27-yarder. If he missed that I think the crowd would riot.

Hopefully the O can get on track in the 2nd half.
