Thread: Interesting take on All-Star ballot

Default Interesting take on All-Star ballot

The NBA just released the All-Star ballot for this season...
    http://www.nba.com/news/ballot_071113.html

Here is the list of East Centers:

    EAST CENTERS (12)
    Andrew Bogut, Milwaukee
    Eddy Curry, New York
    Samuel Dalembert, Philadelphia
    Dwight Howard, Orlando
    Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Cleveland
    Nenad Krstic, New Jersey
    Emeka Okafor, Charlotte
    Jermaine O’Neal, Indiana
    Shaquille O’Neal, Miami
    Zaza Pachulia, Atlanta
    Ben Wallace, Chicago
    Rasheed Wallace, Detroit

What I found interesting, just judging by this early point of the season, is that right now I don't think either of the Wallaces or O'neals would be on the team (assuming you have to pick 2 players). Right now I'd be hard pressed to pick anyone over Dwight Howard and Emeka Okafor. But I'm sure at least Shaq will make the team out of sheer reputation, even if the stats aren't there. Anyone else think the same way, or can we look forward to seeing a bunch of new faces in New Orleans?

Emeka hasn't done crap in Charlotte according to the people around here.

But that just could be grumblings from unhappy fans.....

Dwight Howard will be there obviously.

Curry and Big Z are both playing ball right now.

Well JO's screwed. But that's fine with me, because he's finally listed correctly, regardless of his objections.

What you have to wonder is, who gets shafted when Yi Janlian gets voted into the all-star game, KG or LeBron?

It wasn't about being the team everyone loved, it was about beating the teams everyone else loved.

Yi is not even on the ballot. Charlie Villanueva is.

Exactly. And you won't be able to ignore that many write-in votes.

Maybe that will spark a change. As a fan, I think we do a terrible job at voting for All-Stars

I hope Ji gets voted in if that will finally mean the stupid fan vote doesn't control the career resume of NBA talent.

..considering Kobe was worse than Yi is right now when he got voted in?

What? You guys don't think Vince is a legitimate eight-time All-Star?

No offense, but this is another reason that All Star voting is so lame. Why is there even a ballot on November 14th? No one should be allowed to vote until Christmas. No one's proven a damn thing yet.

I really really want to see Danny get voted in. That would be great to be able to go back to your home town and play in an all-star game.

i wonder why haywood isn't on the list... he's having a really solid year with etan out and deserves more consideration than zaza
